Weather Day

Now Hanta, How did you know that my Wife and I still call Montana home... We will be out there sometime this year.. I am 95% sure of that.. After all, I need to see how much things have changed and how many things have stayed the same Its been far to long since I was there... Anyways, I need to go look at some Cont. bulls or my feedlot guy is going to kill me. Might was well take a long road cattle trip.

You still talk fondly of Montana. Since I am from Illinois originally, and have been back for a visit or two, I wouldn't trade MT for IL for all the money in the world!!!

Come see us when you come out...we can put you up and help you find some bulls, you can go to Bozo and see how that town has changed...MSU sure has, the Town Farm is disappearing very fast :(

Hanta... I will never rule out the possibility of moving back out there... We have come very close a couple times.. Hasn't always been Montana but I surely did love it out there. My time there corresponded with a very big shift back to the person I used to be before high school and stuff. Best desicison I ever made was to move out there.

Sad to hear about the townfarm.. I remember the proffs talking about the place 15 years or so before we got there when they had poultry science and hog stuff going on at the town farm. Actually had a friend, well kind of a friend, whose dad used to run the swine science program... Gosh, totally forgot about that. Not that I really care too much about poultry science but I suppose that was the first casuallty of the campus ag programs...

Ma and I spent all afternoon cutting wood. 10 Degrees and no wind . Had on a pair of Carharts insulated coveralls and was sweating. Used to have some wool but it was too heavy.
Does Victoria's Secret sell long underwear??

Does Victoria's Secret sell long underwear??

Maybe you oughta go in and check it out...maybe take pictures, lots of them, maybe a video or two, (for cowsense sake  ) post them on here so if Victoria's Secret really has them we know where to go :lol2: :lol2:

Lilly, like you wool drives me crazy, cannot wear it.But if you think alpacas any better,I wouldn't bet on it,greg bought me a pair of alpaca mittens,we went tobaganning,my eyes started itching, rubbed my eyes with my mitts, man I had a terrible allergic reaction to the alpaca wool, eyes swelled shut, sneezing, throat started closing....$70 mittens my daughter now owns. :?

Maple Leaf Angus.....the trip was a birthday gift from my very well off sister,it was nice for a one time thing.

YUP!! I was there late 70's, still had the dairy farm, hog farm, don't remember the poultry science, still had meats. Meats went away while I was there.

They talked about how the campells soup guy used to come by and pick up spent laying hens from the school's hen house... It was only a passing mention... They were talking about firing up the meats program again while I was there... I saw all the old meat equipment they had.. It was on a ranch South and west of Town, going back towards upper cottonwood creek... Had a friend who worked for the people out there, went hunting once.. I think it was Clayton who was talking about it.... Might have been Bok Sowell's predecessor (He did a guest lecture for us one day)

They are always complaining about The university Farm down in Champaign too... I think they moved where the cows were because the odor was bothering the people who went to the football games... I simply don't understand these schools in states that rely so much on agriculture just ignoring the tates heritage... Drives me a bit nuts. I guess it boils down to supply and demand but I also thought the land grant U's had other guidance than just that.
