Saturday

Mostly cloudy with a chance of snow and a chance of rain in the morning, then overcast with snow. High of 41F. Winds from the NNE at 5 to 15 mph. Chance of snow 20%.

Saturday Night

Overcast with a chance of snow. Fog overnight. Low of 19F with a windchill as low as 3F. Breezy. Winds from the North at 20 to 25 mph. Chance of snow 80% with accumulations up to 14 in. possible.

Sunday

Overcast with a chance of snow. High of 28F with a windchill as low as 7F. Breezy. Winds from the NNW at 20 to 25 mph. Chance of snow 50% with accumulations up to 1 in. possible.

Hate for ya to deal with all the snow, but i hope you get every bit of what they are calling for because any moisture would be great. At least now a days there is enough warning to get cattle moved around and everything else in line to deal with it.
 
Our northern Ag weatherman yesterday proclaimed that he saw copious amounts of moisture moving across the country about on an east west line south of Billings... He made it sound like Wyoming and points east could get some pretty good amounts of (and needed) snow...

I hope those that want / need the snow get it. we are to be on the Northern edge of this storm Sunday with 6 inches expected. We have over a foot on the ground now. The ground is frozen 6 ft deep, so snow doesn't do much for us, as far as helping with moisture. We just send it to Canada in the Spring.
 
Soapweed your not calving yet,are you?I hope not with that much snow on the way.Been really nice calving weather up here,staying just a few degree's under 32f and there saying all of february is suppose to be like this,makes winter calving pretty easy!! :D
 
Looks likea nice mild forcast except for that wind sounds a little frightening. Hope you get your moisture.
 
Hope you get some snow out of that soapweed. i know you are dry also even if it comes down side ways.

Whish that low thats in the middle of colorado was in the Okc panhandle that's where we get are good snow out in eastren colorado. Getting bad here, If it don't change here soon a lot of our girls are going to town.

Rather uneventful so far--23 degrees, 98% relative humidity, 6 mph breeze out of the northwest, barometric reading at 29.6 dropping slightly, a few snowflakes in the air, and just a skiff of snow on the ground. Time will tell.

Overcast with snow. High of 28F with a windchill as low as 10F. Windy. Winds from the NNW at 30 to 35 mph with gusts to 40 mph. Chance of snow 90% with accumulations up to 2 in. possible.

Sunday Night

Partly cloudy. Low of 9F with a windchill as low as 3F. Breezy. Winds from the NW at 15 to 20 mph.

Monday

Partly cloudy in the morning, then overcast. Fog early. High of 32F with a windchill as low as -6F. Winds from the WNW at 10 to 15 mph.
 
Our 8-10" forecast is backed off to 1-4", and a little less wind. Thunderstorms south of here stole the moisture, they are saying.

Most of western Nebraska is still in line for some snow and strong winds, but widespread blizzard conditions are looking less likely.

The National Weather Service said that snow will develop and winds will increase across the area, but the storm will not be as severe in the Nebraska Panhandle as earlier thought. The blizzard warning remains in effect, but blizzard conditions should be more isolated, if they develop at all.

Shawn Liebl, a forecaster with the National Weather Service in Cheyenne, said that the storm system was slower to organize, formed a little further south than expected, and had less moisture to work with, therefore leading to lower snow totals.

Liebl said that thunderstorms formed in western Kansas this evening and basically "robbed the area of the moisture needed" to produce widespread heavy snow in the Panhandle. Due to that, snow totals of 1 to 4 inches are now expected.

Liebl said this storm shows that forecasting remains an inexact science, which is frustrating for the public and forecasters alike. Liebl said that more research is being used into forecast models, but even with modern technologies, there is not of perfect understanding of the atmosphere.

Liebl added that forecasting storms in our area is especially difficult because storms develop when moving into or off of the Rockies. Therefore, forecasters don't have the opportunity to see the storm before they are forecasting its location. In addition, moisture availability is a big problem, as occasionally, the gulf moisture doesn't make it all the way to western Nebraska and eastern Wyoming as the models would indicate.

The bottom line, snow is still expected, but snowfall totals will be much less than previously forecasted. Winds will still increase, and produce blowing and drifting snow, which will lead to travel difficulties.
 
Windy as heck here this morning talking wind gust up to 60 mph today. Snowed early evening big large wet flakes came hard then stopped 5 min later.
