I suppose I should post this on coffee shop, but who cares. Just stopped at neighbors to check weather. I hear Hathway got softball size hail and a tornado building. Going to miss us, but Oldtimer better get his boat out.

Just got home and saw this--had to haul a few drys to the salesring--from what I gathered at the salesring and the waterhole it sounds like some of the storms that went thru this morning put down some good size hail in places- real spotty on moisture- anywhere from none to 2 and 3" of rain in places west of us- looks like the Whitewater, southern Saskatchewan area could have got dumped on...Radar shows another one heading right toward us now.....

Let er come- its too early to start haying anyway......

Storm pretty well split and went on both sides of us- but it looks like east toward the ND border is getting it worse....We only got about 1/10th of an inch rain- no wind- no hail........

FH- may have to change her name to Dorothy

Rain north and west of us most of the day. The cattle and horses were acting strange about 4 o'clock. The saddle horse were running around the pasture then came tearing up to the house. The cattle were close to a field that I was seeding to oats then they all went north then next the turned around and strung out heading south for the yard. Stood around and bawled for a while then went back grazing.
We are getting a rain right now and in the middle of the storm cell with thunder and lightening real close.

We've been overcast for days now. The first 4 or so we got 4 tenths. Then Tuesday night it opened up and we got a hard inch. Wednesday was almost sunny, and now it is raining hard with a half inch already fallen.

The ground was saturated so the fast rain just runs.

My roof is still not fixed so it rains inside too.

But I never complain about moisture you never know when it will stop.

Haying will be fun the alfalfa is already in bloom but the fields will be soft. I guess not spraying the crops will be the way to go, and I could use 30 more pairs for the extra grass I have.

I hope those of you in the dry spots get some of this.

We are totally parched here in my immediate area. We are in 12" rainfall deficit for the year and have only had 1 1/2" since February.

To make things worse it rained 3 miles up the road last Friday.

Tractor has run all night every nigh for the last month pulling an irrigation pump.

Usually have the barn full of hay by now. None has been cut and no rain in the forecast.

Elwapo, have you ever seen that much rain before  :D That area is even drier than we are usually, I bet it is green green green this year, if not before it will be soon.

We're up to 1.25 today...house is leaking pretty bad... oh well.

Actually last year on june 17 we had a little more rain with a healthy shot of hail. It came down so fast yesterday that it all ran so I don't know how much good it will do. You are right, this area is usually drier than a popcorn fart.

My #3 son(13 yrs. old) is on a school trip out to the mountains. They were camping in Lethbridge last night.
He hasn't phoned or anything yet...... I hope they didn't drown in their tents!!

It was a scorcher here today.... bout 90 and with the hunidity it had to be well over a 100. It was okay while I was in the tractor but when I stepped out it was almost unbearable. They are calling for severe thunderstorms tonite but I dont think it will happen. Would be nice to get a good shower so we could get some pairs to pasture.

That would be a normal Texas day, MR, or at least where I am from. There is a reason Mexicans have a mid day siesta. You have to do your work on both sides of noon. I am sure it is much the same in Alabama and the deep south.
