Remember it started about 10 years ago about the time of NAFTA when the Canadian ranchers lobbied their government to say that cattle in even adjoining states were "diseased" and put costly health (trade) restrictions on them :???: Hell of a note--Eh....

Answer these questions (truthfully)

1) Are Bluetongue and Anaplasmosis contagious? (hint; yes)
2)Is BSE contagious? (hint; no)
3) Did Canada allow imports of US cattle for 6 months out of each year WITHOUT A BT OR ANAPLASM TESTand then for the other 6 months out of each year WITH a BT AND ANAPLASM test? ( Hint ;YES)
And any way... what does this have to do with GLARING HYPOCRISY in your previous post????

1) I agree yes
2) Who knows- Too many unproven theories and questions abound still with BSE- Maybe could be shown with 4-5 years more testing and research.
3) Yes but it took 4-5 years of research and thousands of cattle tested and millions of dollars spent ( along with the then NCBA backed threat of passage of M-COOL) to allow the six month period, even on cattle that run side by side......U.S. "sound science" said it was a trade barrier- Canadian "sound science" said it was an animal health issue.. (Have we heard that somewhere else :???: ) Then when the border was closed to all Canadian cattle over BSE- Canadian cattlemen and the government, trying to kiss up, decided it was miracuosly a nonissue :???: :? :???:

The whole point behind both posts is that we live in different countries- controlled by different governments- and we don't have FAIR trade.....
