Went to Williams Lake to do my Valentine's Day shopping
Took a few pictures on the way in, sorry for the quality but it was snowing and I was paying more attention to driving than getting the best photos.

We wanted a full load but there weren't enough younger cows at the sale, there are 2 heifers and 22 sound, usable cows. They cost $795 landed at home.
A few of my friends called me a thief. :D

The grain truck was here while I was gone.

I have some more big news but am not ready to disclose facts until all the strings are tied.

Well aren't you a busy boy! We'll be anxiously awaiting the details. Congrats on the cows, thanks for taking us along :)

Hey gcreek , looks like typical driving conditions for this time of year eh , sounds like you did good at the sale , my buddy Jerry was there buying cows for bill marshall he said it was a great turnout, I did a little stealing of my own at valley auction yesterday , bred heifers $475 and 2nd and 3rd calvers $425, can't complain with the prices for BUYING so far this year, i would like to go to the williams lake sale soon :-)

Being from the deep south I just can't understand how yall do it up there with than much snow. :? If we are luckly we may get 2" in a year and a little ice. Our cows think they have it bad, maybe I should send them your way. Here we have two season hot and hotter then hell with 100% humitily.

Thanks for the tour, when will you be able to see the ground again??? :D Let us know how the limousin looking girl with the nubby horns calves out... I'm betting she'll be "protective" of her calf...not a bad thing considering she'll need to fend off wolves and bears where she's heading to .

Neat pics gcreek. So are those some of the Tatalrose cows? :)

19 of them are. Thanks for the insight you passed along. :tiphat: Are they bringing more down at the end of the month?

WR, as little snow as we have we might get a glimpse of ground in early April, in between the shi!storms. As the ground thaws it will turn into mud for some time after that. The red cows are supposed to be Gelbvieh but I suspect a Limo bull may have known thier grandmas. They will fit in with our multi-cultural herd. :D

Jigs and BMR, wait till you see the G-string before you start laughing.

Enjoyed the trip, thanks. Glad you did well at the sale, it appears you really did. Guess one never knows until later. I have brought cattle home that I thought I had really done well getting them bought, and lost money on them; then I have bought cattle, and could not sleep for a week, wondering what I did that for, and they made money every day I had them.

I live in the hills and have some narrow hiways but I think it would take some gettin' used to seeing signs that say "Runaway lane" and those switchbacks where you the road going in the opposite direction right below ya.

The patriarch from the T4 ranch has been here several times and it is not quite so hard on him now. The first time he came out, his BIL drove him here. His complexion was white to the tips of his fingers and his first statement was "At least in my country you can't get lost and you definately won't fall off!"
I've never been able to talk him into going down to Bella Coola. :D

I dunno how much of a thief you'd make GC - that seems pretty steep money to be paying for some of those cows this winter in Canada. Seems to me the real buys in cows were mid November. Here are a couple of pictures of a small bunch I bought back then. It's cost $100 me to bring them through to now. Not my usual choice of breed but they are bred black, 2nd, 3rd or 4th calf dispersal cows that just didn't look like they could go wrong at $485!
