On Saturday, Chadron State College played Abilene Christian in a NCAA DII playoff game, at Chadron, NE. CSC was down 35-14 at the half and 49-20 at the beginning of the fourth quarter. With 17 seconds left in the game CSC had tied it at 56-56. It was an amazing triple-overtime win for CSC, 76-73. The final score was the only time that CSC led in the game.

I was on the sidelines with hundreds of other wild fans. I was very impressed with Abilene's team. They were big, fast and GOOD. It appeared to me that CSC just had a little bit more in the tank at the end that they did. Danny Woodhead had a good game with 188 yards rushing, but Abilene's Bernard Scott ran for 308!

Imagine, 149 total points scored in this game! CSC racked up 716 total yards while Abilene had 659.

Hey JF if I would have known you would be there I would have looked you up. Are you planning to go next weekend? It was a very good game to the end, wasn't sure if the Eagles were going to pull it off or not. :D

That would have been a great idea, however it might have been a challenge to find each other in that crowd! Heck, maybe you and I were celebrating next to each other and didn't know it.

After each score everyone was "high fiving" each other even if we didn't know each other! It was fun because no matter who you were standing next to, you were great friends in that slice of time.

I had the comfortable feeling that they'd get it done since CSC was pretty much scoring as will in the fourth quarter, but with 90 yards to go and less than 2 minutes to tie the game it got pretty tense. When it went into overtime, I felt pretty good about their chances.

Next weekend? I'd really like to, but I should stay home and get some work done. I've been going to football games all fall and my employee is about ready to fire me! I'll have to see, then maybe contact you about it.
