How about this- Planted corn on Wednesday.very nice out. Friday had a big time snowstorm about 12-15 inches, 30 mph wind. Today found 9 dead calves under the snowbanks.
It hasn't been pleasant here either... woke up to 22 degrees, a cold north wind, and three inches of snow. I had to treat a calf today, and even with help, it wasn't very fun. They're getting too big for me to throw them down, and I'm not sure about shooting them with my tranquilizer pistol... haven't done it to a young calf before, but may be giving it a try next time . Or I may just try to rope it and run the tail end of the rope over with the pickup to hold the calf.
