In college my foster daughter (Lela) was having trouble with the International Electrical Color Code putting it to memory
Black = 1, Brown = 2, Red = 3 and so on - - she was very upset
I told her how I learned it

Black (1) Brown (2) Red (3) Orange (4) Yellow (5) Green (6) Blue (7) Vilot ( 8 ) Gray (9) White (0)
This is a good code to know WHY :???:
Many Stores have a code like this with cost coded in
Black Orange - Gray Gray = $13.99
Some just use the colors some where on the tag
