Big Muddy rancher said:Looks like a full double rig. We consider them more of a arena saddle then a All Day rig. Might just be a local preference.
Other then that it will be the fit and ride that say whether it is a good saddle.
ps Won't your mule be jealous?

I custom ordered it thru a saddlemaker that was a Tex Tan dealer several years ago (wanted a 17" seat- and bullhide covered tree) when my old saddle fell apart with red rot... I think it was about $1100...We decided that as much riding as I do anymore it's probably all I need- and will probably outlast me.....

That's about what I was paying for the Billy Cook saddles, maybe I oughta break down and order me a new one, sure hate to order a cheap one and be disappointed in it and wind up ordering another one.
good luck
PS are yall gettin any rain up there, weather folks are saying this hill country is as dry as its ever been, better get some rain this spring when the hay crops go or I might just capitalize on the good prices for cattle, haul every damn one of them to the sale, then sit on the front porch and drink good whiskey with the rest of the old coots  .
