What is average cost of cow per day?

Hi everyone. I know, I know, long time no see. But then maybe many of you have been busy in the whirl of spring and summer ranch life. I hope the rain is blessing your crops or dams, and that you had pristine days for brandings.

As to my question, I need to know how much an average cow in western SD costs the rancher on a daily basis. I hope you can help me out.

Thats a loaded question.

It can vary from place to place. Pairs out on pasture will have to pay from $.50 a day to $1.25 per head per day. And then there would be vet and bull and salt/mineral cost. Every ranch has a different charge. Whether they are running them themselves or putting them out on summer grass lease.
