Hauled two finished beef to the meat plant late last night for an early am kill appointment. It's a 160 mile round trip. :? Spent this mornin' workin' on a well. Hope to haul some 500 pound calves out on grass this afternoon if the rain allows. Raining sweetly as I Type. :D

Checked cows at daylight, no new calves. Changed waterpump bypass hose on old Ford pickup. Had to take water pump loose to do it. Went and got mail and looked it over some. Now I got late dinner in the oven while I catch up on ranchers.

I hope there are no leaks when I put coolant back in the pickup. Might have to try a different battery to fire it up. Pickup hasn't moved since last fall when winter set in.

Kicked out pairs this morning, just got Dad loaded and on his way to town with a few suspicious looking bulls to get semen tested. Wife should be back from town any minute with tractor parts so I can get back to plowing. I took over from her yesterday and ruined a tire on the plow and sprung a leak on the overflow tank on the rad. Lesson learned. Stay off equipment and let those more qualified get 'er done.

Y'know, he's never said, and I've never asked. It could be the procedure that's the draw, not the results

Fed pairs back towards timber in preparation for the coming snowstorm, fixed more fence, and tagged three calves. I need to put my last calver, bred to the OTHER neighbor's bull, into the barn for tonight. Making beef stew, and cleaning up this house some... in between Ranchers reading of course :D

Milestone expensive but worth every dime.

Planting oats, normal chores, setting up to flush a cow next wed. Fertilizing hay fields. Should be able to go to grass by may 1st.

Started fertilizing barley ground. Still calving although the numbers have dwindled. Still feeding every morning. Moving grain out.
