whats the good the bad and the ugly ,New Mexico

Wow, that looks interesing, jody.

Would be a lot different than what we are used to in Wyoming or
Montana. I know someone who moved from Montana to New Mexico
and they stayed there. I can give you an email address if you
want to contact them. It was quite a change, I know that. And
the place they bought does have some irrigation. I can't remember
where exactly in NM it is located.

South of Alberquerque sounds bad to me, but I've never been
to NM either.

I got a cousin and his wife whose business is appraising nothing but ranches. They will not work in New Mexico they say they are too light of skin when they go to the court house.
Have a friend in NM she post here and her comments on another ranch was to buy south of I-40 as north is almost a different country and culture.
Look up a few places in Nebraska , but I have a hard time getting past what their property taxes are.
The place we looking at in eastern Wyoming the owners are not going to hold it too many more months then they will up the price and list. We had an offer that cover that ranch but doesn't take care of a income stream for Mom , and the amount I need to partially buy out a brother.

Magdalena is just northeast of us........nice country, but pretty flat and open, from what I've seen. I guess it would be ok, if you were used to that, but the 15 months we spent near Encino, NM, made believers of us, that we don't care much for that kinda country.

Pretty Jody but I'd sell it too. Missouri isn't western enough for you probably but you can buy realestate there worth the money, it's a better winter climate, and you own it. 7M would buy a decent place for you in Mo. It'd buy 3500 acres @ 2K per acre which would run about 1000 A.U. but you'd have fertilization costs. You'd at least own it fence to fence along with the mineral rights. South of here 50 miles a place that size is making 40K per day off of Nat. Gas in a newly developed gas vane. Previously it wasn' worth much. It is now.

Looks like it might cash flow and be profitable though, anaconda or not. I sure don't know much about Brazil though.

The ad says that this guy maintained 11 wives here.

Must be MIGHTY profitable!

Profitable with 11 wives??? Mike, you using that new math???

I'd say ' other' industries would be way more profitable there than cattle. 6 airstrips.....all those places to dock a ' go-fast' boat!!! Hmmmm....makes one wonder????

The whole place is the worlds largest swamp!!!

It sure looks that way. I wouldn't be supprised if the carbon credits you sell those European goof balls isn't more profitable than drugs now days. Run a cow to every 10 acres , cut 12000 acres of beans (twice a year) and plant those trees for algore then just sit there and count your money and shoot drug lords trying to kidnap your kids.

Magdalena is only about 100 miles west of me --
The huge amount of government land in ratio to the private makes me think RUN RUN RUN...it'll never get better and it's getting worse..forest service is out of control...BLM and State...whim of the "GUVMENT"---it's not been a good deal for a long time and it's sure not going to be anytime soon...Jody, I pm'd you on the other site.

heard of several reports of yearling gains in north-east nm to be some what dissapointing. Ours that we got last week (see coffee shop, shippin and fishin) gained obout 1.5 per day so that was about normal.
