Hayseed: "when are we gonna see diminished consumer demand?"
We have already seen declining consumer demand. Boxed beef prices are not what they were. Consumer spending on beef has declined due in part to a decrease in discretionary spending due in part to higher fuel prices.
This decline in beef demand is not because of anything R-CULT has said because the media doesn't see R-CULT as a credible source of information on BSE. If they did, they would repeat R-CULT's concerns about the safety of Canadian beef due to Canada having BSE in their domestic herd now that we have a domestic case of BSE in your backyard.
I thought R-CALF said BSE was a Canadian problem Hayseed?
You might want to have someone explain to you what I just wrote.
Hayseed: "I know that consumers believe R CALF is working hard to insure the safety of the cattle industry in the USA and Canada, this can only instill confidence in the consumer.."
Most consumers have never heard of R-CULT! How is R-CULT working hard to insure the safety of the cattle industry by claiming their beef poses a "high risk"? How will that instill confidence in the consumer? Explain how R-CULT claiming Canadian beef is a "high risk" instills consumer confidence in their product!
I'm not surprised that statement came from you!
