Thanks for sharing!

It looks like you and your "girlfriend" had a wonderful time celebrating your anniversary.

We have the honor of celebrating the marriage of two of our neighbor "kids" today. I enjoy weddings so much because of the start of a new life together. I hope their's lasts as long as you and your girlfriend's has.

I am looking forward to your message tomorrow morning. We (including myself, here) could have used some of your wisdom in the past couple of days.

Cheers---

TTB

Neat pictures,my son works on a steam train alot like yours. Its just a day trip with dinner or supper at nearby town. Our son usually acts as one of the train robbers. They also do wagon trains.

What a great looking couple, you got yourself a pretty one :)

I like those little puff-a-billy trains. Thanks for posting interesting shots.

Shortgrass was that the Durango--Silverton R&R?

Just saw a show on RFD-TV that was filmed in 19888 about the Durango and Silverton. Said it cost $32 round trip .

Can you give us an idea what a trip cost today?

Big Muddy, that trip was the Cumbres & Toltec narrow guage. It is a ride just like the Durango/Silverton. This is an all day trip. From Antonito, Colorado to Chama New Mexico. You ride a bus along the highway from one town to the other(an hour or so), the ride the train back to your vehicle. Start about 8:00 and finish around 5:30. Cost was approximatly $120/hd. They furnished a good hot meal at a stop along the way, and beverages and snacks on the train. We felt like it was plenty when we signed on, but felt it was a fair price when we finished. Recommended by Shortgrass & bride. If you try it in late Sept(color season) best call for reservations. If you come this way, look us up.................

OH you really took some great pictures...One of my goals for "someday vacations" is to ride an old train like that....They have one in Deadwood SD, the 1880's train, that I hope to take a trip on. Seems like your new camera is gonna work just fine for ya, so now we can expect more great shots of CO and your "girlfriend"...Thanks alot..sure enjoyed your tour through your pictures.

Ty for sharing your pictures. I enjoy viewing the photos of different people and places. I love photography.

Jassy there is a fun train ride out of Chadron Nebraska during the Christmas season. It's a dinner train and just a relaxing trip. Not a steam engine but still fun and the food wasn't bad either.

Those are beautifully clear pictures from your "new-fangled" camera, Shortgrass. Looks like you and your bride had a very enjoyable train ride.

In the 2007 edition of the Daily Guideposts, John Sherrill writes about this very same trip. He made several days of devotions with the train ride as the theme, from August 24th through August 30th. If you haven't had opportunity to read these pages, you might like to find a copy and compare experiences.

By the way, it looks like you could be called Tallgrass instead. :-)
