The only way you can choose is for you to sit in both of them.
You asked which I would buy...I said neither since I am a forward sitting rider and both of those saddles would be painful to ride any length of time in. You have to pick the saddle that fits YOU.

If your wanting to show saddles for a saddlemaker cool, does she make one for a forward sitting rider ....more in the lines of a hunt seat saddle?

I dont think they make a size bigger than 16.
good luck

Oh yeah they do...I know you can get association trees as big as 18"...

Both good lookin saddles. I just don't like the dee's built into the skirtin. Seen to many start to tear. I like them atached all the way under the seat so they can be fixed easyer. And I sure am spolt to a higher back u get with the asocation tree. Good lookin saddles though.

   Well put Haymaker. By the way #1 is the one I would go with. Both are great looking saddles. But looks aren't everything go to the saddle maker and just sit in the saddle and have a b.s. session if you can sit there and not feel uncomfortable I would recommend getting the saddle

I agree on wanting swells on a saddle. But I like the way a Wade looks. I like the top saddle.

You should probably hide their hearing aids also so they don't get too bored with conversation. :P

I dont socialize women with seein glasses or dogs, they watch you too much and sic their dog on you.

I'm love a old saddle. I got 2 free a while back with the d's built in to the skirtin. Both had not been oiled in years and were dry and green. Both are week at the d's. They cleaned up good but are just for hangin on a banister in a western house. It would coust way to much to rebuild them. I do have a nice billy cook that is a barrel racer for a kid. Its all there and was expencive in its day. It would not take much to get it in shape. It would be free to a little girl in need. Just let me know and who ever, can handle the shipin.

Hey I'd be interested in the Billy Cook barrel saddle. And would be more than happy to pay the shippin.

My daughter barrel races. Get with me on it, and we'll decide whether to do it COD or UPS whatever.

I'll be on later tonight, right now got horses loaded in the trailer ready to head to the arena for practice night.

I'll take some pictures of it in the mornin. It needs a little work but it still a good saddle. Please pm your email and I'll get them soon. I hope it works for her.

I bought my first wade about 5 years ago. I will never go back. I still have a roping saddle but it is not near as comfortable. I like riding colts in my wade. It does not have bucking rolls but does have a 5in cantle. I ride a shorter stirrup and can set my but tight in my seat if I set my feet forward. Once you get tapped off you can sit right in the middle of one. I like a the flat plate riggin vs the in skirt also. I will never own another hanging D riggin. Katrina have you ever had trouble with your Colorado Saddlery saddle soring a horse. I have owned 3 of them the first seemed to fit a horse pretty well but broke the tree clean in half loading a cow in a trailer. The other two sored the hell out of horses so I traded them off.

No I haven't... This is my second colorado... And I know a few down in the sandhills who ride them... Remember I don't rope anymore so my use and yours would be way differant.. Interesting on the rigging... I've often wondered about that..... This is fun guys, I am learning soooo much...
