Who is NOT getting a storm today???lol

some freezing drizzle here this morning and that's about it. 60 degree weather yesterday wiped out a nice 6 or 7 inch snow pack :(

Snow down to 1800 feet, 26 on my guage, ice on my stock tanks not sure what the wind chill is all i know is is cold and most people think Ariz. is always hot :D :D

This morning as I wait for the sun to rise the thermometer reads 33 Below-- and shows that sometime during the night it hit 35 Below... With the 8-10 mph breeze out there-- that puts the chill factor somewhere around 50 Below...

Ma Nature getting us prepared for the predicted mid-January cold to come :???: ...

Report from Soapweed country. Minus one degree, breeze out of the northwest at 3.8 mph, giving a windchill of minus eight degrees. Probably four to five inches of snow on the ground, but hard to tell as there is lots of quite bare ground showing, with three-foot drifts in other places. One drift is nearly five feet tall right in front of the horse barn door. :? It's supposed to get up to around 13 above, light winds, and down to 8 below tonight. Could be worse. :-)

Well we have had our proverbial "January thaw" except that it started 2 days early. It rained a lot in the past 24 hours and took 99% of our snow.

The cows are in mud around the feeders . . . :(

Welcome to 2011. :)

That's pretty much the same here Soapweed. The pastures don't look bad at all, but around the house and buildings, there's some pretty good size drifts...Some tanks are blown in with snow, but the critters seemed to have survived. Hubby did manage to push the backdoor open enuff to get out and shovel off the steps and the dog house was buried..so dug it out too...but our dogs are in the house most of the time so they were fine. The sun is shining and that alone is a great start to this new year!

Happy 2011 Everyone! Let the winter ranching games begin! lol

Neighbor a mile down the road had 40 Below this morning, altho he said it could have been colder as his thermometer only goes down to -40 (must be a southern made thermometer) Weather folks say they got several other reports from folks down the river that had -40.....

Hydraulics on the bale truck did not want to work too well this morning (especially since a dog must have bumped into and unplugged my hydraulics tank heater during the night  )...
