Well you may have seen my post with the pictures of the thistles.....today while out driving the pasture...we noticed ALL the horses were pullin just the bloom part out and eating it. They would literally open their lips to avoid the stickers....and pluck the flower part out with their teeth.....never seen em do this before...ever!

This is a little mare that a friend of ours more or less has left here. We've had her for 2 years. No one's ever done a thing with her....I sure do like her..she's sweet as can be....wish she was broke to ride cuz I like the looks of her.

Must be some pretty sweet thistles this year..lol Looks like yur horses wintered well, and I love that green grass! Thanks for the flower pics..it'll be awhile before I get any flowers around here...
 
yep they like them ,i have a mare who goes nuts over them,they have to get to a certain stage though before they eat them,i think the sugar in the plant goes to the head and thats when they eat them
