You know I have always said our beef should always be labelled "Product of Canada" no matter where it goes. Maybe I should take that up with our Minister of Agriculture.
As far as "riding on your shirt tales" goes, when I have time I will tell you about a history book our community just wrote. It tells of the days of the big ranches and open ranges in southern Alberta in the late 1800's and early 1900's and how the cattlemen from Montana and further south turned their cattle in on our grass and grazed it bare until finally the practice was stopped. A lot of the info came from descendants of the Montana ranchers who did this so I think it is probably true. Transcripts of the trials that followed can be found in some Alberta museums. Our transcripts came from the Glenbow Museum in Calgary.
