My mother had them in her ear. They partially paralyzed the side of her face.

It was also very painful. :x

That kinda sounds like my SIL who is just now recovering from Bell's palsy which is also virus linked. I wonder if there is any connection.

Probably not between my mother and your SIL but I think between the shingles and Bell's palsy there is.

I got a case of them when I was 17. Right in the small of my back were the waist band of my pants sat.
Drove me completely nuts. You have my sympathy concerning this stuff.
