Our 93rd annual rodeo was this weekend and some guys bought in this big paint stud for the boys to try-he was trashy but Ty got by him. My bulls bucked ok-was their first out all year. We bucked our big paint and he bedded his guy down pretty quick-was his first out at an indoor rodeo.

I told Ty it might be fun to get off one this way instead of headfirst lol.

Yep that is a habit you can sure get an addiction to...

I can still remember the first time I made it to the pickup man in a rodeo- I was about 15-16 years old and it was a rodeo in Plevna Mt.-- and the pickup man was Bob Askins, who had to be in his 70's - but I remember when I grabbed on, he was still as solid as a tree trunk... After that first time, your looking to do it every time..

Harold Jarrard was the pickup man in the country I grew up in (Buffalo, Wyoming). He had huge hands and I remember the kids talking about it feeling like the hand of God when Harold got ahold of you on the
back of a bronc.

Of course, he made the Cowboy Hall of Fame, he was that good.
He never wore any special chaps and he was sometimes mounted
on a bronc himself.

What a guy. And he was known as the toughest man in Johnson
County.

I don't think he's got much of a bucking hortse career ahead of him anyways lol. Jersey Lilly that's wood shavings on top of the dirt not rocks we don't raise them that tough up here lol. ty and his buddies are craving more horses now so guess time to put a practice pen together. If you Albertans can get to a rodeo Battle River Rodeo is putting on go watch 'King Kong' buck in the bulls-he's definately PBR short go material.

After I posted that I wondered if it could be shavins.....lol cuz if you look it's not close to the edges of the arena. Whewwwww!!!!!

After draggin Lil Lilly around to different arenas you really learn quick to appreciate the well taken care of ground, and avoid the places that don't take care of it.
