Would like feedback on this product, we are primarily gathering cattle out of brushy lease pastures with horses and dogs. This seems like an alternative to building " throw togather "pens on every lease place.
 
Our local CoOp has one that they rent out. The lesser half has used it a couple of times and isn't real impressed. It seems our roads rattle them apart too fast.
However, we have some neighbors that have one of their own that they really like. But it doesn't get the miles put on it that CoOp's does.
So I guess that's what I know. So long as you aren't going to be "wheeling" too often, it'll probably work great.
 
we have two sets of them here and we use them alot
they are handy we can set them up ship and break them down and move them in a hurry
we use our trucks and trailers for a wing also
they will about 150 800# yearlings and if we hook them both togather we can load trucks out of both ends
we have a hitch on all of our trailers so we can pull the pens behind the horse trailer and don't need another truck
you will need a good portable chute on wheels if you plan to load semi's as we do
i don't think we could get along without them

Looking at the video they have- If you had that many cowboys, I don't know why you'd need a corral :wink: 15 cowboys for 30 cows- should work good.... :lol:

Reminds me of local roping clubs, takes 12 guys to bring back 10 steers......

I don't sell those, but will tell you a few people have told me they are pretty handy units if it is the make I am thinking of. Great thing is they don't have to lift panels, unit kinda sits down and then you spread it.. I have never seen one, but that is what I've been told....

Send me your e-mail address and I will send you some pictures of another company that makes one like wilson but gooseneck hookup and has 2pens behind and a cutout on right side of alley ,has a tub also .And it sells for the same money or maybe a little less that wilson.Its 14ga 1 7/8 steel pipe with 2 in on top.I have sold 30 units this last year.

Don't know anything about this corral, but take a look you may like it.

Rawhide Portable Corral
One person can set up the Rawhide Portable Corral in about 10 minutes ready to contain 150-400 head of cattle without lifting a panel.
 
I have used both the Wilson (largest version), and the Rawhide Portable Corral (largest version).

The concept of a portable corral is a great idea for what I need. Reasons I decided to buy the Rawhide:

1. Pulls way better down the road.

2. Biggest version has very close to twice the capacity of the biggest Wilson.

3. Multiple setup options available with the Rawhide.

4. Has many walk through gates so you're not climbing.

5. Hydraulics do all the lifting. Don't get one without the hydraulic tongue jack (I did and added it on later myself).

6. Two different pens!

We can't download the whole site freezes on us {AVG?}.We want more information on the Rawhide...?Wheres it from,any Canadian dealers ect
 
what dealer sold yours? How many cows in yours? How much$(sorry to be nosey) for the raw-hide. I think the wilson is $9000 am I right ??
 
I had to go to Abilene, KS to get mine a year ago. He didn't have a dealer structure set up then. Pulled fine at Interstate speeds.

Cost about $10000 for his biggest model at the time with an extra panel so that we could easily attach it to our portable tub.

I think you're about right on the Wilson price.

Missed the capacity part. John told me that the large corral would hold 300 head of 8 weights. The Wilson site has its capacity listed at 140 head of 850 pounders. If they both estimate accordingly, the Rawhide holds roughly twice as much.

The Rawhide corral set up to hold at maximum capacity has a big pen on one side of 9 panels 20' long. The little side would be 7 panels 20' long.

The panel lengths are difficult to come by on the Wilson website, maybe someone could post the comparable info??

As far as my use goes, I haven't used it to full capacity yet. Did run in 100 pairs at spring branding time with ample room to sort off cows and then rope/drag calves from one side to the other. Also have had 70 pairs with 6 weight calves in just the big side.

This corral was designed to be able to drive a dually with a round bale through the whole thing leading the cattle through the corral to capture them. Not how we do things here, but that's the story.

Do find the two pen system very handy in that the cattle seem to feel like they are getting away when going through the open gate into the second pen.
