Congratulations Clarencen!!!! Really neat photo.

Clarencen said:I found that photo in one of my albums, at first I hesitated to enter it. I believe I took that picture one Sunday afternoon in Martin, South Dakota sometime during the 1980's. The steers, or oxen in the picture I see in my mind differ from the ones in the picture. This may be because I was thinking "what if we took a couple of steers from our herd and trained them to drive" We had some Gelbvieh in our herd then.
I was in Martin that afternoon to meet with Tim Johnson, he was congressman from SD then, and had asked some people to meet him. I had time before he arrived so I drove around, then saw this man with the ox team. Later he had them parked so I took a picture.
I am still not alltogether certain about this, but I don't have any pictures in my album except my own and a few of my sisters. She don't remember this picture.
Martin Jr. said:Clarence, I got to thinking that maybe this was around Fairbury, and did some searching on the internet and found that this was taken at Rock Creek Station south east of Fairbury, Nebraska.
Clarencen said:Well then, I won't claim it. My sister, Carol must have sent it to me. I don't think she took it either as she didn't remember it. It is not a post card it is a little smaller then that.
I was at the RockCreek Station a long time ago but they were just starting to restore it then. I believe there was a sreet in or near Endicotte that had been restored then. There was a bluff nearby where John C. Freemont had carved his name, but it was about washed away then too.
I guess this is all just for fun anyway. so no harm done.
