Thanks. This picture was actually taken by a friend of mine of his partner in the Findley River area in the early 1980's. The guy in the picture now owns a big area in the Yukon.
They had taken a contract on short notice and bought a bunch of "hunting horses" from a trader. This horse was kind of the average of the herd. Although I wasn't along on this trip as I was already married and ranching, I have packed my share of colts. They always make a hunting trip a little more interesting for the hunters to talk about when they get home.

That was a the two hindquarters of a moose. It takes 2 horses to pack an average moose, should use three for a real big one or two big horses.
The big difference here is that a Canuck is smart enough to let a horse do the hard work. :wink:
