OK, I finally figured out the photos - here are a few pictures of our Luing cows grazing banked perennial pasture through the recent cold snap. We have had only 1 day in the last month above -10C, not many above -20C and many were high -30s with windchill. Cows grazing through around 8 inches of snow, licking snow for water and doing just fine.
MRR 3M a six year old Luing cow (223U daughter). This pasture is pretty well all eaten.
Almost identical profile to her daughter - old 223U grazing under the same conditions at 22 years old!
45P - A young cow off the Lochay line and very much the body type we look for.
Even the bred heifers were grazing until Christmas.
Onto a new pasture. Trailed them 2.5 miles in -37C windchill last week but the cows are enjoying the change. Hope you enjoyed the pictures.
