Today is national Ice Cream day.It is said that Vanilla is the favorite flavour by ice cream eaters in th USA.....So I thought maybe as a fun sugestion,I would get the folks here to let each other know thier favorite flavour,and who makes or made the best ice cream they ever tasted.....If you hot and in need of cooling,think about ice cream and jot down a few memorries.Every one has an ice cream story....My grandfather used to say when the ice crean truck would go by"thats not ice cream.when I was a boy my mom made the best ice cream ever".He never made us ice cream,but would load up his old white rambler stationwagon,with push button transmission,with 8 to 10 kids(who ever heard of seat belts back then.lol) hauling us down to town for ice cream at "Ted's News and Grocery".I remember the trip and the stores porch,and,that the ice cream always went to fast..
Oh my favorite is Parlines and Cream from BIg Scoop 31 flavours.
They say on Yahoo this recipe is good,I stuck it at the bottom of this thread...If you do try it,let us know if it was good?

A Simple Recipe
1 cup heavy cream
1 cup light cream* (half and half)
1/2 cup sugar
3/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 pinch salt
Stir until sugar dissolves. Freeze according to ice cream freezer's directions.
Makes 1 Quart.
*1/2 cream and 1/2 milk may be substituted for light cream
