Is there no one here that is a baseball fan? Cardinals are my team but I think they should have more than a little trouble with Detroit. That's why I say the Cardinals will win it in 6.

I am a baseball fan, but a fan of one of the losingest teams around, the Rockies.

I have to cheer for the Tigers...it's been awhile since they've been to the big dance. Also, a good family friend pitched for Detroit in the World Series years ago. If memory serves me correct, it was their last appearance in the Series.

I hate to say it, but I don't care who wins as long as Steinbrenner doesn't.

Cheers---

Now that the Twinkies are out- I'll have to root for the Cards too.....

I was a huge fan of the A's when I was a kid, when they had the Bash Brothers going - MacGwire and Canseco, so I'd love to see Tony Larussa win a championship. But, the Tigers have been a long time getting this far, so it feels easy to root for them, too.

I think it's gonna be one heckuva series, either way. How about those breaking balls that Wainwright tossed last night? Wonder how low Beltran is feeling this morning, after watching that looper drop in for strike 3, with 2 out and the bases loaded. Gotta feel a little dumpy knowing you went down NOT swinging.

You don't have to cheer for the tigers...you might as well get on a winning team.

Pure country I was thinking the same . You know he felt stupid after that Kid struck him out three pitches especially looking at the last one. I bet he's blue today what do you bet.

The day I cheer for the Cards well... It just isn't going to happen. Althought I was happy to see the Mets loose, just wish it had been the dodgers or Padres that were going to the series.... Being that I am a fan of the most pitiful team in Baseball history, the Chicago Cubs (fouth generation fan, I think it is a genetic defect) I guess I will route for Tigers... Good story... Those games up there are going to be COLD...

Cards Fans...

Looks like your team is cruising right along :)

So, why haven't they sung the National Anthem? Or did they, and I missed it? If they haven't, I'm not sure you'll want me to get started. They are in the US, after all. Just like if they were in Canada I'd expect them to play the Canadian National Anthem.

Cheers---

TTB

Cards took it to the Tigers last night.. 7 to 1. Or was it 6-1??? Anyway way cool game with lots fo action and scoring..... Did you guys see the tumble that the one card player made between third and home??? Way funny..........

I listened to it on the radio TTB. I didn't hear it but surely they sang the National Anthem. It was a fun game if you're a Cardinal fan. I guess it wasn't so fun if you lived in Detroit. We'll see how our pitcher tonight handles the Tigers. That kid last night was a pro. If we win tonight I would hate to be in Detroits shoes going into StLouis with 2 losses.

I didn't hear the anthem but I heard America the beautiful sang by Bob Seger but I was running in and out of the house at that timetrying to batten down the hatches so to speak with all the rain that was coming in.

Rain in the forcast here for tonight and I am due north of Saint Louis... But who knows what that means s we didn't start raining until I had t load culls this morning... Great... And the help didn't show... Great...

... They are suppossed to play tonight...

I heard on the radio that this was the lowest watched on tv series ever.. Is it the teams or is it baseball??
I really think it's the midwest location of the teams. Less population in the cities the teams are from.

Cards could win it all tonight. I'd sure enjoy that.

I would love for the Cards to do it now. I've liked the Cards for a long time.............Ozzie..........and Stan, even though he was before my time

There are no teams from any of the real big major metro areas such as New York, new England, LA or Chicago.. .. but it is more than that because last years ratings were bad, the year before they were bad, they have been decling for years... Lots of reasons really.

It's late October... Baseball should be done. First it was extending the season to 162 games back in the 50's or 60s;s which added 12 games. Than the additiion of divisions in the late 60's added 5 games to the playoffs. Than in 85 or 86 they changed the fist round from 5 games to 7 games which added more time and than the addition of the wildcard team in the 90's added another week to the season. Not to mention the removal of schedualed double headers added even more lenght to the season. Baseball at 8 pm, when it is 38 degrees and almost November and rainy just doesn't work for a lot of people. It is football weather.

When the changed to all night games for the series in the 70's or 80's I think they cost them selves a generation of fans as kids no longer raced home from school to watch the games. Back east these games are starting at 8:30.. By the time they are done it is almost time to wake up and go to work/school. I think they are really bitting themselves in the butt by not building a fan base... For heavens sake have day games on the weekends at least... I have always been a fan of baseball under the sun and I bet it would be more comfy for the players to be playing at 2:30 local time instead of 8:30.. Always thought that was a great thing about football, every Sunday afternoon is football, really Saturday too.. Sure there are night games too but the majority of the games are when everyone can watch. Hard to d with a 162 game season like baseball but I think they could do a better job.

Last but not least there are lots of channels, lots of things to do and baseball just isn't in vogue anymore.. Anytime Dancing with the Stars out pulls the major sporting event for a leauge it is not a good sign.

Cards win! Illrancher I think it would a good time to switch to a winning team. You'll have to hear it every time the Cards and Cubs play next year, "introducing the 2006 world series champions , the St. Louis Cardinals!"
