The small but oh so very mighty Valentine Badgers traveled to Elkhorn Nebraska to battle the eastern part of the state of nebraska...
We took nine battle hardened badgers who were looking for some redemption after suffering a loss thursday night in a duel to the Ainsworth Bulldogs.

After the eastern fog of dust had settled in a 14 team wrestle the mighty badgers placed 6 out of nine, in fourth through second place medaling round.

Carter came in seated seventh in a very tough stacked 135 pound class.
Wrestled a great first match pinning his kid in badger style. In his second match he wrestled a klonker match losing by decesion going to the consolation matches...
Coming back and wrestling three outstanding matches in the consulation bracket. Where in one of the three matches he wrestled the seconded seated kid, pinning him again in that awesome badger style.
Do to the fact that he could wrestled only five matches he forfeited his last match for 3rd and 4th and took the fourth place medal.
And as we traveled back to the west we could still hear the ringing sound in the air of GO BADGERS!!!!!!!!! GO BADGERS!!!!!!! GO BADGERS!!!!!!!

Beehive Bullies: Braves take Box Elder Tournament
As the tournament began, nobody in the Beehive State was quite sure where the Braves were going to finish. By Saturday afternoon, they were all looking up at the Crimson and Gold.

Star Valley rolled up 211 points en route to the tournament crown, the second-highest total in the event's history, and well ahead of second place Mountain Crest who compiled 171.5 points.

"We felt like we really weren't given any respect as they seeded the tournament," stated SVHS Head Coach Eddie Clark. "That was our theme for the event. We expect to be there competing and I'm not sure they knew that. We had some real tough final draws but when it was all said and done we had ten top four finishes and eleven medalists."

The Masters of the Mat battled through some second-day adversity, fighting through the tough draw and losing just one match in the round deciding the tournament placers.

"It would have been real easy for us to quit," added Clark. "But when you tell this group of guys that they aren't very good, they don't like it."

The tournament featured the top two rated teams from both the Utah 4A and the 3A classifications.

Up next for the Braves is a trip to Idaho where they will face American Falls in an intriguing evening duel before setting up shop at the Tiger Grizz Invitational.

1. Star Valley 211

2. Mountain Crest, UT 171.5

3. Viewmont, UT 165

4. Box Elder, UT 148.5

5. Mountain View, ID 140

6. Weber, UT 136

Good to see Star Valley turn disrespect into a positive.

Lucky he can wear the footwear of his choice. So many schools now days are trying to protect their gym floors and only certain ones can be worn. Guess it's the difference when the mat covers the majority of the floor.

Congradulations on your sons wrestling achievements.

Maybe Carter should put some spurs on his books. :-)
