ya never know when the unexpected---comes knock'n at your door
whether it's going to be a blessing---or to settle that old score
a feller came a knock'n---i have'nt seen in twenty years
what he was about to say---would bring an honest man to tears
how long has it been?''he asked''---since ya treated me fair
alot of water under the bridge---since those days i did'nt care
now i'm feel'n old---and have'n trouble with my health
it's time to settle that old score---i want to share my wealth
i don't want your money or your labor---i don't mean no harm
life has been good to me---now, i'm give'n you my farm
life is not always about---how long your gonna live
but,sometimes know'n God----and how much ya got to give
