Thought if I changed the subject line it would be a little more interesting :) The guy we lease the ranch from wanted us to fence off the pivots. We finally got it done yesterday :D We are so glad the job is done...since we had to wait a week from the time we started till getting the job done cuz of rain. Here are pics:

MCG discovering other uses of the skid steer other than driving it around :)

Getting the railroad tie hole dug

First strand of wire down, sw pounding staple in railroad tie

Using first strand to keep line straight, this is the easy way to pound posts :D Especially when the ground is as wet is it is now :D 'Cept we still had to pound by hand the posts that didn't want to go in because of rocks, and on the slopes

Post is in

Finished fence with pivots fenced in and cows fenced out :D

Now to catch up on laundry, bookwork, etc. 8)

You can sure tell who's boss on that outfit by who gets to run the skidster, and who drives the staples

Country sure looks good.....

Thanks, Jassy. It IS green out here, waiting for another storm to show up here this evening, grass is growin' like weeds (literally!) and we're sure lovin' it :D :D :D :D Another week of fence buildin' and it will be time to start SWATHING!!! YEEEEEHAAAAWWWWW!!!! Hay, hay, hay and hay!!!! :D :D :D :D

BTW, I'm sure you guys have the same problem...there is a small window in which to get it all done before it gets hot and dries up.

Good lookin fence Hanta Yo,those skidsteers are handy for fenceing chores,I sure like mine, had tracks put on it the other day, sure makes a good tool better  .................good luck

Nice looking fence, Hanta Yo, sw, and Montana Cowgirl. Those five wires should hold the cattle in and the elk out. Any job worth doing is worth doing right, and it looks like your fence was done right. The countryside looks green and pretty, too. Thanks for posting.

Great picture story, Hanta! Hey, what the heck is a "pivot"? :???: I know that we used to use that in basketball (back in the dark ages)....somehow I don't think it's the same thing.....

And what did MCG do to her knee? :(

The sixth picture, just below the top wire you will see a long steel something with wheels. It's a center pivot irrigation system.

MCG hurt her knee hookey bobbin' over frozen cow pies. May have to do an MRI on her knee this summer and see what's going on with it. Running in track doesn't help, either.

The price of new steel posts and wire now makes it even prettier. Good job!

Boy, you got that right, Cal. At least lessor pays for the posts and wire, we put in our labor to put it up. I can't belieeeeeeve how much that stuff has gone up!
