You know that Saying, 'It'll never happen to me'

Wishing you all the best for a clean bill of health once again, Randi. May you find our Heavenly Father's healing hand with you in the coming days. He is always near!

OMG, this is so wonderful. You all are a great help to me right now. No one is saying oh, poor, poor you, and that is exactly what I DO NOT NEED!! You are the most upbeat and wonderful people out there!!

I will say this, as I said on the CT board. On the way home(by myself) I had 2 hours to think. Not much else you're going to do anyways. And came to the conclusion that I really had 2 options, I could either drive the car off the road and kill myself, or I could fight it. Well, as you can tell, I didn't drive the car off the road.

That would probably explain you not being at the last sale in Mankota. :?

I was there, just not on the back of a horse and, that was why I wasn't on my horse yes. Actually, I think I was sitting right behind you, you were buying hereford :???: cows :) that were too pricey for us. Was going to talk to you but then you left

Just look at it as one of life's adventures-stay positive-your going to meet some pretty awesome people I know I have. Remember no matter how it goes there's somebody else having a tougher day than you. Maybe we'll end up at the clinic together-have a good old visit.

Thank you NR, and I would love to meet you, but I have a feeling that I'm going to a different clinic than you are. I get to go to Regina.

You're so right about that, and it's a good way to put things into perspective. I'm definitely better off than a lot of people are, all things considered!

Oh Dam. You let my secret out.

Those were good cows. I had an order for them.

Wish you had of poked me and and said Hi. I looked out back but no ladies were riding and I knew they were short handed because of Ken F's funeral.

 sorry  didn't mean to do that :?

They were good cows. We know the owners quite well, she works at the stockyards too.

Should have, next time I will have to do that. I don't think it was too bad, wasn't a huge sale, and lots of the time there are actually too many people around for those cow sales.

We didn't buy any cows at that sale. Mostly because they just don't fit into our calving time and getting late cows bred in our timeframe is a time consuming and often futile effort. Been there, done that. Picked up a few Shorthorn cows just before xmas though. Some purebreds that should calve right at the start of our cow. I'm pretty happy with them so far.

The WORD OF GOD says a MERRY HEART does GOOD LIKE A MEDICINE.

Two songs come to mind One set of foot prints in the sand and He was there all the time. .

Trust God and all will be well.

I'm just the other way, it is hard to find cows that start on in April when our cows start.

Yeah, but at least when you buy earlier calving cows, its pretty easy to move them into your calving season the next year. Pain in the butt the first year, but no problems after that.

We've bought late calving cows often enough to learn how dumb it is to do so. Either they are still calving in June or they don't breed back. Kinda pointless buying cows that are probably going to turn up dry the first year....

Keep your chin up Randi, and eat lots and lots and lots of vegetables. Preferably raw and uncooked, they have more of their nutrients and enzymes that way. My ex-wife's hubby had a brain tumour, full on radiation, then chemo. He took the doc's advice and eats something like 70% fruit and veggies - mostly veggies - and 30% other foods. He's been given a clean bill of health after a year.

Had cancer surgery last spring. The worst part is just not knowing what is next. Best thing to do is bathe it in prayer. Prayer is good in all things.
God Bless,
Cancer Free

Hey Randi, Like everyone else said....keep your chin up,and look to God! We will be praying for a good outcome. Darn it anyway :???: You can handle this.

Thanks again (seems like I'm saying this all the time  ) My chin is as high as I can keep it.

Sid, you are right the worst is simply not knowing. These next 2 weeks are going to be hard, because of that.

Thanks for all your thoughts and prayers!!

Randi, I can get really wrapped up in problems. We all can and do. We forget the one who will take those problems. When I finally remember to ask God for his help, it's always amazing how quickly I feel better. Ask him for help. It will make a difference. We're all here for you, just like you would be for any of us.

Ditto..........

I have a friend who has a big silver plate she loads all her problems on and serves it up to God and he takes care of all her problems... Trust in the Lord and remember your rancher friends are here to help..

You got much snow down there?
I see you got some Shorthorn cows, that will sure help with less stress

Thank you,
Probably have about as much snow as you guys.
Yep, and one of them has your name on her. Bought them as commercials, but looked up the owner and tattoos, it was interesting.

randiliana, I've been there, done that........twice now. Fortunate enough to have early detection, mostly through 'accidental' testing. To buy an insurance policy as part of 'estate planning' the first time. Breast cancer that time, discovered VERY early by an expert at reading a mammogram. There is a great medical center in Rapid City, SD, but was able to get into the Womens Cancer unit in Denver for a second opinion which was a comfort because they told me they would love to take care of me there, but the people and the facility at RC was great and I would be fine. Quick round of chemo, a year on Tamoxiphen, and I was pronounced as finished with it. Best 'medicine' was that I got the life insurance!!!!! I did lose my hair, was only mildly ill from chemo, and felt truly blessed, as there is a LOT of cancer in this area (west central SD). Also some in my family, but not so sure that is a huge indicator, AND three of the four of my mothers siblings who had it got smokers cancers. Mine was in 2002 and I'm now half past 69 years of age. It was a shock, tho not a total surprise, given number of people I know who have had it. And MANY have won their battle. Faith helps with so many molehills and mountains of live, and I can't imaging living without it, in any case!

Last summer, by another chance exam, a fairly comprehensive ultra-sound screening we both took because of our fears of pancreatic cancer due to losing a family member to that. Showed something in they thyroid so had a biopsy even though nothing was detectable by the usual means of finding cancer in that area, palpation of the area. Showed Hurthle cell lesions on one node. had surgery and it was positive, so remainder of the thyroid was removed Oct. 21. The surgery was a piece of cake. I've had sore throats which hurt far more than that did, even immediately after the surgery. The worst thing has been that it was too long between the surgery and the pill to remove anything floating around in my system and I got very weak. It does get my attention when doctors say, "I don't know how you can function with numbers that bad!" regarding the level of 'stuff' left in my system. I did manage to say that depends on what you mean by "function".......I wasn't doing much at that point, and still is a chore to do much more than the most minimal stuff around the house and get to an event or two that meant a lot to me during the Christmas season was hard, but well worth the effort. Had as much help as possible from family, but too much had to be shelved. Christmas dinner was the most minimal we have ever had here! We actually are doing our family celebration this weekend as that is when the storm clouds allowed for family to travel home. Life goes on and this was another very treatable, and curable cancer, so blessings continue, tho sometimes it is hard to appreciate the fact that I really am blessed..........and I'm told, tho not so sure I believe it is ENTIRELY true......that I'm not always my usual "sweet, kind and loving self"!!!!!!!! Follow up treatment will consist of closely watching for lumps on Lymph glands and removing them if they appear. I will be on synthetic thyroid for the rest of my life, and I do know many people who get along fine with that, tho for different reasons than mine. I think I can understand where you are at this point in time in your journey and, while it is sometimes hard to keep focused on the brighter side, just accept the occasional 'down' times, pick yourself up and enjoy what you can at the moment. Don't be hard on yourself if you don't always handle things as you wish you could. Let family and friends help you, and don't be afraid to ask them to share your fears when you need to. Shared burdens are always lighter! It is great that your prognosis is good. If I should someday have another 'episode' I'm keeping some alternatives in mind, such as at least checking out the non-conventional cancer centers. I would NEVER take "there is nothing we can do" as an answer, if I ever hear it. It just works for me to have alternatives in mind, tho I haven't, and won't, worry about the possibility of a recurrence.

Prayers and best wishes for best of outcome on your treatment, and recovery.
