I will try to get a picture but for now, I will just describe what I have seen.
The young cow that is raising her first calf and AI bred back to Boyd's New Day has a small cloud in her right eye. The cloud is very light blue in colors and is about ½ inch long by ¼ inch wide. She seems to be able to see out of this eye and does not look to be in pain. There is no swelling or drainage from the eye and I could notice nothing abnormal around the margins of the eye.
Does anyone have any ideas?

Sounds to me like a little scar tissue from from being poked by something. If it isn't watering, don't worry about it. It might be there til the day she dies and never bother a thing.

It also could be a little ulcer in the eye. But again, if it isn't bothering
her, don't worry about it. If it is draining, then you probably should
get her in and treat it.

Did she have Pinkeye? Pinkeye will leave a cloudy eye...she may not be blind and she may not have had a bad case of it. But any amount of pink eye will leave a cloudy mark in the eye!

You're in the South like me...and pinkeye is a PAIN!!! Be alert for any start of watery eye....don't wait....get um up and load'em up with LA 200 ro the equivalent!

We had one calf water this year so far and than clear up. searched all over the pasture for that stinker and couldn't find it. Finally found him when we ran all the calves though and he had a little blue spot.. This is the time of year when the pinkeye really starts breaking on us. I just hope the mineral program, the fly control and the vaccine program works this year.

Otherwise I have patches, penni, and Tetradure on hand to deal with it.

I bought an Angus cow from Gardiners that had exactly what you describe. I noticed it before I bought her but it didn't seem to bother her in any way. I've owned her several years and it's still the same and no problem what so ever. I assume she was born that way or the result of an early injury. She has produced 5 calves to date and they are all normal.

I sure hope this Angus cow is all right. She will be watched very closely.

Thank you for y'alls responces.

I generally treat eyes as soon as they are bad. I been traveling a lot and saw a hiefer and then another calf as I stopped at a pasture on my way outtaa town. Well, I thot I'll have to get that this weekend. This weekend never happened. First chance back, I was set to sort and doctor. Well, the eyes had cleared up.......

I still am in th camp of doctoring it when you first see it, but also wonder how many would have healed by themselves, LOL.....I had this same thing happen on a calf about ten years ago. Rented pasture and I couldn't get there right away. Then it was healed....

Sounds like 'marble eyes', which is natural pigmentation in the eyes. You get them rarely and they are a genetic trait. The Hereford bull Felton's 517 carried the trait as we had Felton's 517 daughters that would give marbled eyed calves. They really are cute to look at as the sunlight sparkles off the bluish tint in the eye. :D
