Your opinion please--2010 Chev 6.0

I've been readin on here for a long time and this will be my first post.. i guess cause i dont want anyone to get into what we did.

The Ranch bought 2 2010 brand new 1 ton chevy duallys, gas burners, i now know why i only drive diesels. The trucks have ben great for feeding and running around, but they are both gutless when hooked up to anything. Yes we got a great deal on the trucks but it hasnt been worth it. It doesnt matter if you are loaded or not there still isnt enough power. My father-in-law and i hooked up to take a load to the sale a month or so back and we used the ranches chevy and his 98 Dodge. By luck of the draw i thought i was getting the better end of the deal but i soon found out why. He called me when he was unloading and chukled when he asked me how i liked the new truck. I made it but i was about 30 minutes behind him. Need less to say those trucks will not be ther next year.
 
FH...... a lot of the Cummins fanatics (I'm one) would reccomend that you keep the "06" & pass on the new one. Lots of problems with the emission crap and modifications cancel out the warranty! You've probably already got a more reliable truck that'll get better mileage than the newer 6.7's. It's a crime that emission standards are ruining the diesel engine industry........everything from pickups to semi's are facing reduced mileage and shorter engine life in an attempt to meet California standards! :mad:
 
I think you are dead right, cowsense. We bought a Powermax booster
for our '02 Dodge from a man who worked for Cummins for years.
We have kept in contact and here is what he told us in an email:

"There won't be any more 5.7's-get the most out of it. EPA is going to make all the diesels too expensive to own,
but there is nothing out there that will meet a rancher's needs for towing and hauling.
A gas engine hasn't been made that gets 800 ftlbs at 1800rpm. rd"

So, I think this is the end of the story as far as what we are
going to do! :P Ours has nothing wrong with it and it's had excellent
care, so it should last us for a long time yet. (hopefully).
