You're not in Nebraska anymore

I have bought southern cattle many times and as long as you do it early enough in the year to allow them to adjust I have not had a problem.

I have a small place in the middle of Florida right in cattle country but I have not been there for about 4 years as I just don't like it and when my 83 year old mother passes I will probably sell it and not go back -- - - - beautiful place but I can't stand the summer heat, drought , and smell of the everglades.

Its a good thing people are different or we would all try to live in the same place and that would be terrible. I don't even like going to the county seat and they only have about 20,000 people.

-25C here this morning and warmed up to -15C and sunny by noon. The cows were all laying on the strip where they got their hay rolled out yesterday, carrying about 1" of hoarfrost on their backs. I think it bothers me more than them.

Now we have a steady wind building up accompanied by fairly heavy flurries. You know it's cold and nasty out when there is fine, granular snow going horizontal. Stings like a sandblaster when it hits your face.

Only 2 1/2 months to go . . . . .Cuba, here I come :)
