Wild turkey is tough!Had a guy at church explaining to me how to make a wild turkey edible. He went through about a dozen steps in the process. I said well before you have done all that I can toss a rib eye on the grill and be eating good while you are still trying to cook that bird.
Dressing them is the hardest. Thank god for store-bought turkeys.well, ones we raised seem to cook better breast down , then turn over at the end to brown, seems it helps keep the white meat moist. home raised turkeys are way better just don't let them get to 45 lbs dressed or you end up taking them to the meet plant and getting them smoked.
Well, prime rib and ribeye steaks aren't cooking here, but a slow roast brisket is smelling great already this morning. It is simmering in my garlic, 7 herb blend, beef broth gravy. Should be ready about 1 PM. It goes well with stove top dressing, mashed potatoes, and cranberry sauce. I am having my Thanksgiving early, since tomorrow friends will bring me more food that I can eat in a week.Had to do the turkey coz I know everyone's got prime ribs.![]()
