Seriously? A turkey recipe? Ask for lamb or beef and you might get a response here on ranchers. Prime rib for Thanksgiving dinner and maybe lamb chops for Thanksgiving brunch, but turkey is for the striped duck denim overall clad, straw chewing members of the poultry and pig Farmers net. 🤣 It's moo moo, or bah bah here, not gobble gobble. 😉

Had a guy at church explaining to me how to make a wild turkey edible. He went through about a dozen steps in the process. I said well before you have done all that I can toss a rib eye on the grill and be eating good while you are still trying to cook that bird.

well, ones we raised seem to cook better breast down , then turn over at the end to brown, seems it helps keep the white meat moist. home raised turkeys are way better just don't let them get to 45 lbs dressed or you end up taking them to the meet plant and getting them smoked.
Dressing them is the hardest. Thank god for store-bought turkeys.

Well, prime rib and ribeye steaks aren't cooking here, but a slow roast brisket is smelling great already this morning. It is simmering in my garlic, 7 herb blend, beef broth gravy. Should be ready about 1 PM. It goes well with stove top dressing, mashed potatoes, and cranberry sauce. I am having my Thanksgiving early, since tomorrow friends will bring me more food that I can eat in a week.

Sounds like a great slow roast brisket!

Mr. FH says "it's called fowl (foul) for a reason.".

Just shoot them and pluck away, the feathers drop off. I don't know why shooting/wounding one and chasing it across two ranches seemed kinder. 🤔
