SD Stockgrowers host speaker Leo McDonnell at BH Stock Show

Sandhusker and others with a brain: I attended Leo's event this past Monday and when I came back to this board, I feel I have to share a quote Leo learned from his Grandfather. This quote sums up exactly the waste of time it is to 'converse' with SH. "Never argue with fools, they only lower you...

    Paragon Foundation

I am familiar with the Paragon Foundation. I've heard G.B. Oliver speak on a couple occasions, the last being in September 2005, in Rapid City at the SD Stockgrowers annual convention. He informed the audience of 'federal codes' that pertain to "Conservation Easements?", as i recall. (You won't...

    NCBA flip-flop

Unless it's their lies...the 11 points on reopening the Canadian border which were recently voted on and passed at the National Membership (I use this term loosely) Meeting have been thrown by the wayside. Obviously, members have no say in NCBA policy and actions! Those of you giving your money...

Captive Supply..To be (lieve) or not to be (lieve)!

Now, what fool wants to tell me there's nothing wrong with this picture: :x "NFU's February 2005 Concentration of Agricultural Markets update shows that four companies are now controlling 83.5 percent of the beef market." OMAHA (DTN) -- The National Farmers Union applauds legislation...

    keep border closed!

This is Pam Potthoff for Nebraska Women Involved in Farm Economics Some issues get so bogged down in emotions that the facts get completely ignored. It seems to me that that Canadian border remaining closed is one of these issues. When we start talking about the satisfying taste of beef and...

    HB 1182/SD Mandatory "Refundable" Check-Off

So you are happy with the outcome also, as I assume you're describing yourself not those who worked hard to stop this bill.

    HB 1182/SD Mandatory "Refundable" Check-Off

Why start another check-off when the National Check-Off has been ruled unconstitutional and Supreme Court now has to rule on it. Why not have a voluntary check-off since proponents of the bill claim it's what "all" producers want and need. Those that want to contribute may do so.

    HB 1182/SD Mandatory "Refundable" Check-Off

Good News: House Ag & Nat Resources Committee deferred HB 1182 to the 41st day - Committee voted 8-4 to DEFER! I'm sure proud of those lawmakers who have listened to the cow/calf producers. A BIG THANK YOU to Representatives Deadrick, Brunner, Gassman, Halverson, Hargens, Howie, Jensen and...
