Sorry to stir the pot. Wasn't meaning to be rude..... I am very impressed by the bulls. I am always interested in seeing quality animals and having a little background into their pedigrees is nice information. If there is no pedigree, doesn't mean I am any less impressed by the animals...

I don't know that it would be too risky. If you buy the 3% for $7,500 I am sure you get a certain amount of semen for in herd use which would be similar to buying 100% in a bull for $7,500 other than not being able to use him for natural service. To make your investment back they would have to...

I guess I should have posted about our lack of rain on here a long time ago. Got over 3.5" last night. Could have done without the high winds and hail but definitely glad to get the much needed rain. :D

Tell him to check with Riverbend Ranch there in Idaho Falls.... I worked for them summer of 2006. Best experience of my life. They are a fairly large operation raising mainly registered and commercial Angus but also have a small herd of Charolais and Pieds.... or I assume they still have them.

Down in Central Texas we are covered with a couple inches of snow, hasn't been above freezing since Tuesday morning..... I know it is nothing compared to most of you but I'm in my mid twenties and can't remember a cold spell like this.

We had a cow years ago that developed cancer eye..... vet removed the eye, stitched her up and she lived for several more years producing several calves.

I would guess that Liveauctions.tv is imposing the fee to keep traffic down. With as big a sale as it is, I would be guessing they didn't want to overload their system and cause it to crash. Thus, they impose a small fee to keep away the gawkers and keep it to more serious buyers.

There is no telling what is going on at this point..... you never know, they may have gotten an offer they couldn't refuse. Everything is for sale for the right price.

I have also heard that they sold the majority of the herd to an operation in Russia and that Doug will be heading over there for two years to help run the operation.
