Fence is Done and Cows In New Pasture

The problem with here is the fact it is all electric fence and needs to be cleaned out. So I sweep low and cut high with a saw and then go back and use one of the bigger models of a Husky "whipper snipper". And the thorns on most of those plants prevent the cows from eating and enjoying. If I...

Fence is Done and Cows In New Pasture

I will. We are driving west for a "look around" in September. Planning on stopping by the "Big Muddy" to steal a coffee! LOL

Fence is Done and Cows In New Pasture

Some of it. Lots of thorn bushes, wild raspberry, grapevines, lots of Sumac, some poplar, some birch and some maple and ash. All of it sapling size as it is on the edge of a big swamp. It was thick and the thorn trees were a pain in the butt to cut and clear. Probably a lot of other types of...

Fence is Done and Cows In New Pasture

LOL! That is what keeps me young. Not a lot of modern day city boys under 30 can keep up. Hope you have a great day. Cheers BC

Fence is Done and Cows In New Pasture

It was actually wet and cold - lots of mosquitos and ticks as well - had to wear a coat for part of the job until I started to warm up. Cheers, BC

Fence is Done and Cows In New Pasture

Well it was about a mile of heavy brush to get them in to the new bush and pasture. I ran two strands of electric wire down the alley to keep them in. Took me a couple of days to get it done. This will be the last time as I have sold the farm and my wife and I are heading west. This section was...

    The price of hay

We have a small hay field in front of the barn. It is only 8 acres but really good ground. I cut that 8 acres of hay twice last year and got 65 very nice dry hay bales - four foot round bales. Sold all but four of them for $70 a bale. I was one of the cheapest prices around. I could have sold...

Selling Out - Planning to Move

It is hard to believe when I look back now but she was alone for the best part of six years. In that time we saw each other one Christmas, ten days in Israel and ten days in London England. She is "Wonder Woman!" (But do not tell her I said that! LOL!!!)

Selling Out - Planning to Move

I agree but that is something that I have experienced many times as a medi-vac pilot while in the military. Nearly all of BC is covered by the military and several real good outfits in various cities. Besides, I like the wilds. And so does the other half.

Selling Out - Planning to Move

We lived in the west for most of our lives - the military moved us here and we once thought it would be a good place. Those thoughts have changed and for good reason - so we are planning on coming home!

That is a target zone - wife tells me where to look and I listen to "she who must be obeyed!"

Selling Out - Planning to Move

We are downsizing. We have sold all the cows and all the sheep. Just want enough land to run a couple head and to grow a garden. House does not have to be perfect as we are "handy folks" and I simply want my wife to be happy. BUt, it must have a shop for me. Her rules apply - 45 minutes to a...

Selling Out - Planning to Move

Wife and I have decided to get out of here. We are in in the east and want to return to our home in the west. We drove out west last September and realized that we were in the wrong part of the world. So we have sold all the equipment and animals and the land is next. We are looking for...

    Paid to sequester carbon

CO2 One part Carbon - two parts oxygen. Without CO2 all plants die. Plants breathe in CO2 and exhale O2 which is what we breathe Without plants exhaling O2 humans and animals die. This is nothing more than people control and money for the rich. The amount paid to ranchers and farmers to...

    automatic or standard

Standard transmissions - love them. Park them in the yard and leave the keys in the ignition - it is a millennial anti theft device in its own right. Best to all
