heres some cow and hay pics

I agree with JB. You can tell from the picture that she isn't as thrifty as the rest. Bred or not, loose my backside or not, I'd have sent her down the road. Nice looking hayfields.

    Polled V. Horned

This topic can get into a pretty good debate. Just boils down to your preference I think. Most of which is dependent on your local market. I have a good horned bull that I'm really pleased with. He is improving my polled based cow herd every year. My horned cow families are great for what I...

A few pictures from Valentine's Bull Bash

Hey Soap, we have been having the same problems with our equipment. Didn't haul any to the hospital, although I was ready to shove one off into the draw. Turns out we got ourselves a bad batch of fuel. Too much water in it and the equipment kept freezing up. We drained the tanks, changed the...

Needless to say, this has been a very interesting thread to read. Van Dyke said he had pictures and would post them if someone told him how. If he wants help posting pictures I think we should offer him that help and load up the photos! I would like to see this settled and the absolute truth...

what do you put on your cattle tags?

Ya I have FH. Didn't seem to have too much trouble with ours. I use green ink too, that might make the difference.

what do you put on your cattle tags?

Hey Soapweed, do you use tattoo's in the ear? I realize that you can't see a tattoo from afar but it would atleast let you retag the animal with the same "permanent" number that you tagged her with. We tattoo each animal with their own number then tag them with the same number. If they loose...

    Heifer

Amazing heifer. I think I bought the raffle ticket that gives me possision of her...right??????? :D :P She has cow written all over her. But if the young feller wanted a "club calf" then I'm afraid RR is right. She is too fine boned and has too much leather. She would sure get a couple looks...

ND Red Select Red Angus Sale---Dec. 9th, Bismarck

Well Lazy Ace, I'm dissapointed. I thought for sure Brian would allow the lucky raffle winner the choice of the pair. Then I bet you 2 would be fighting over the one that wasn't chosen. I kinda fancy the one on the left anyhow. Do they come with a clip job and halter broke??? I sure bet they...

ND Red Select Red Angus Sale---Dec. 9th, Bismarck

I don't suppose a person could find a picture of the "raffle ticket heifer" anywhere? I bet she is just as fancy as the rest of the offering. Good luck!

Dairy Farm Stray Voltage kills 100+ Cows

I didn't read the article but, stray voltage is a problem on alot of Dairy's. Most stray voltage problems I've run across isn't enough to kill the cows but will cause other problems. Problems like mastitis and high somatic cell counts. It will couse the cows to go off feed and be really jumpy...

    Heifer pictures

I've never had a calf out of Blue Blood. Boyd's are not known for easy calving bulls though. I don't care for their stock real well. And I wouldn't use any of Boyd's stock on my heifers even if I KNEW they could pass a buick. Just my opinion here Katrina, no science behind it. Good luck to ya...

    Heifer pictures

Any calving problems with Blue Blood, Katrina? I like the looks of Nicky's cattle. Any of them would be welcome to come eat some ladino clover in my fields. And they wouldn't have to work so hard for their grass here. :D
