    Ranch Photos part 2

Right now I think all they have is the zebras and one camel. They used to have a few more camels and some other exotic types, but I think they lost some in the big snowstorm a couple years ago. I think they market some of the animals, but mainly just have them to have them. :)

    Ranch Photos part 2

Just a little south of the Purgatorie I think. Coming from the lush, green Sandhills it always seems like we are heading to the desert when we visit down there, but the cattle seem to do well on the hard grass. The only thing I really don't care for is the rattlesnakes. :)

The ranch spans throughout Bent, Las Animas, and Baca Counties. Yes, they are in an area fighting the Pinon Canyon Expansion.

    Saturday and Sunday shots, Dec 6 & 7, 2008

Longevity is sure an important trait to keep track of. Those older cows look to be holding their flesh pretty well. Thanks for posting the pictures.

Another day of fooling around, August 6, 2008

Those bulls in the "stringing along" picture look to still be in pretty good flesh . That back bull looks like a meat wagon. Thanks for taking time to take all the pictures. I really enjoy them.

The bull is a bull we purchased from Jorgensen's in South Dakota. He was a 4.5 frame at weaning, 4.8 frame at yearling, and I would guess him now at 5.5. He's pictured as a 6 yr old. He's sired by a son of the Ideal 4465 cow, and his dam is sired by N Bar Prime Time D806. :) We try to...

These calves were born in the last half of March. I'd say 450 lbs. is a pretty good weight for late Feb-March calves--your calves must be doing ok even if you are in a drought. Hope you can pick up some rain.

Went for a drive today (pics)

Thanks for the pictures. My Grandpa and several uncles ranch in southeast Colorado, so they keep us informed on the Pinon Canyon situation. It has been very frustrating for them.
