In our Years here V_Key and I have stayed out of PB - we Learned a lesson
and had enough of that kind of stuff on Agriculture Online
She was (13) and called some very dirty names (and that was not a PB site) - we don't even have a Bookmark for AO

First off I have seen some pretty good name calling and such in ths forum as well....I have no idea what COOL or RCALF are but some of you folks go nuts fighting about it......then there is the on going battle over Canadian and American cattle sales and laws....
This is the problem,Texan was the only one who admitted he at times can add to these complaints by the way he has acted......I would say the same about myself as texan did....Somedays you just wish you could of been the better person.....but to trash PB and not some of the other forums here is unfair...As they suffer from similar bouts of name calling and presonal attacks....To post private information on someone in any forum here should be immediate dismisal...
I do find the biggest reason for all the name calling and personal attacks in Pb can be summed up in one word ,silence..If more people spoke up when someone goes over the line of decency and not just sit silent because they fear they are not supporting thier political brothers/sisters..Then maybe self modertion would work....We all have done it,watched in silence and not stepped in because we fear the bully mentality or that the click may no longer like us.....That is the biggest problem in PB,the group allows the bullies to get away with everything there...I just wish the cheerlearders spoke up more when its the right thing to do rather than sit quiet and watch the meaness continue....
I do understand why its hard for them to speak up though.As when they do speak up and make a stand,just because its the right thing to do,they instanly are labeled liberals and are then attacked way more then agreed with from that day forward.What is most sad is even when they are conservative supporters on most issues,they will be called out as a liberal .It seems the worst thing anyone can be in PB is a liberal thinker.......Ask Mrs. Greg,if you do not believe me....I hold alot of respect for her as she never sat silent,has been called names...attacked for what she believes in and has never changed her conservative political stance...In doing so she has maintained her pride but now some of those who had her back before,now continue to call her out and spin her words to fit thier agenda of the moment.....The rest just watch in silence.....The lady deserved better and now I see it wears on her and that not fair... If we had more posters like her and Texan that stand up when it is the right time to,no matter their political veiws ....then maybe political bull would become be a place to battle on level ground and not get to a personal or get to the point of ugliness it sometimes will get to...
Yes,I know I add to the problem of name calling..I have no excuse, its wrong and inmature....Sometimes I just give up and fight back instead of sticking to the debate itself...For that I am Wrong...

If that information has already been posted by the person its no longer private. That is what ot was refering to in my regards.....I only posted what was already out there.
As for posting personal info that is not out there I agree.
Yes I have admitted some fighting back but I have been working on trying to get all to settle down.....even with some making snid remarks about people being upset over name calling ..... :wink:
I know habits are hard to break and snapping back is quick and easy but we need to stop and think about what we are saying and think how will the person we are attacking will feel......if that is what you want is to hurt, then for the sake of all here type it in word and send it to yourself.
You can disagree with someone without snotty remarks and name calling hail in the exchange you might learn something ..I know I did a couple times from reader when she explained and left the snotty comments out and presented the facts.
To think that PB is an island unto itself is wrong. The posters there do read and most do post on other parts...so they do know how the ones who do not go into PB feel. Thats why they leave PB in PB.
What is sad is, I have not gone into a quilting site for a couple weeks and when I went back there was a BIG message by admin about rude remarks and off color jokes and off topic posts and not posting where your suppose to, then another site had the same type of thing except it was involving pm's and how nasty they are.
It seems we as a people have forgotten how to be compassionate towords each other. We forget there is a live feeling human being reading our words.

Not sure I know the answer! I am not for censorship, believe in free speech. But this site is Private property of Macon's, so he has the right to do with it as he chooses.
Politics are a controversial subject, and this is a very controversial time in our history. Lots of things are happening that could change the make up of the United States for decades or centuries to come and as a result it stirs some strong discussions.
I would find it hard to censor something that is only accessed by choice! I would think that every individual on this site has a built in Censor at his finger tips, that being his right not to click on PB.
Like I said I do not have the answers, censorship is a touchy match to play with, you do not want to hinder someones freedom of speech, but at the same time you do not want people yelling fire in a packed auditorium.
If Censorship does happen, it needs to be someone that stands above reproach within that community. On PB we have moderation by fire starters and on Cattle-today we had moderators posting political opinions and then locking threads once they got their stabs in.
Moderators need to be someone that holds to the word itself, someone that shows Moderation and balance.
I have no idea who all the moderators on these sites are, but of the two I do know, one here on PB and one on CT they take some pretty hard left views and do not show much Moderation! Maybe that in itself adds to the fire, when you have moderators that are strong liberals moderating a site that has a larger portion of Conservatives it may be a fight waiting to happen.
But like I said I do not have the answers, and it is a shame us adults even have to have this conversation, maybe we can step up and do more on our own.

The most disgusting personal attack I've ever faced was in Sports and Hunting over a photo of a team I coached. The standard team in uniform coaches at the ends picture. Ignorant people can lurk in any form-I assume the individual was warned and dealt with because he still posts on here-I'm thinking maybe when he's sober now a days. a good guideline is-if you wouldn't be man or woman enough to say things face to face don't type them.
