-25 C this morning with a helluva wind out of the North. That's a combination I could certainly live without. Windchill right in around -40. I've seen worse, but that don't make this easier to take.

On the positive side, we got another 2" of snow overnight, making it harder for the cows to graze - oh wait, there was a positive in there somewhere. Ah yes, spring moisture.........4-6 months from now.

I swear, somewhere warm before I die..........

Same temp here this morning PC. Still snowing and enough wind to move the wind chime a little.
Have had about 14 inches of snow in the last week, they are calling for another 4 to 6 inches today.

This white stuff will look good flowing across the meadows this spring.

Nippy here as well PC but low and behold they are predicting above freezing for Monday. A little fresh snow which is good for the bunch that are using it as moisture because the deep stuff is now hard.

PC - don't worry it might be 6 to 8 months before spring.
We are hauling bales this morning to the far group of cows. Enough to bale graze for a few days. Roads are too icy for the tractor so we are using a flat deck and pulling the bales off with another truck.

If we hit that weather break next week, I have a several hour long date with a horse. Hope the cows remember where to cross the creek...
On the bright side, we will have lots of (hopefully) April/May grazing on the swaths that are buried too deep... :D

I started feeding Dec.1 but left a few paddocks for spring-as soon as the snow bares off we should be good to go. Not near as much snow up here-the picker truck can still get around and spot bales for us. Cows are kind of out in the open but I've got some bales placed to move too if anything bad blows in. Mares haven't come up to be fed yet-those bluegrass meadows are pretty good graze for horses. No wind here yet this A'M.

Plumb balmy here on the cameron flats :D :D 32 degrees and the cameron breeze is barely rockin the house! My cows sure needed a break from the wind and cold and I needed another day to finish hauling my last stack of hay in close to the house before the 600 head of elk that have claimed it for theirs completely annihilate it.
