-27c this morning, -20c by noon and snowing, about 3 inches today, -17c at 10PM.

Was supposed to have 14" on the ground this morning - - - +34F and raining sideways
If the temp drops we could get hammered but for now just miserable.
Wind in the 40 to 50 MPH range but as long as the temp stays up my toys will stay in the sheds

Took the wife to town - - - +30F and freezing rain still blowing sideways - - - very slick. I think a little snow would make the roads better.
Weatherman is still talking blizzard - - - I guess we will get whatever we get. He says we will get down to the mid teens and rain, sleet, freezing rain or snow for about the next 12 hours.
The cattle have come to the barn - - - they have access but it really takes a cold rain before they come in! With just 18 head it does not take a lot of room for them to stay dry.
Dogs have doubled up, I have underground dog houses as well as the normal kind. All of the dogs are in the underground houses. Just noses sticking out past the flaps. Let the 15 year old male in the basement - - - he deserves special treatment.
I might go out in the garage later and wash the skid steer ( at least the windows ) but do not have any great plans unless I get called to move snow. I have mixed feelings - - - I used to love to push snow but anymore I am getting lazy and prefer to stay home and take the service truck out whenever someone calls for fuel or a break. Fuel one of them up and give them an hour to take the service truck and eat and then come back to me. No more of the days where I pushed snow 30 hours straight!
I figure we need to be rested as we might be out a while later!

Looks like you have everything well under control, George, and are raring to go when the time comes. You have some nice equipment to get just about anything done. Thanks for the pictures.

What type of underground doghouse do you have George. I'm assuming you built it I've seen a few just curious how you did yours.
As far as the underground dog houses I needed a retention wall when I built this house in 1998 so I build 2 boxes out of treated 2X8s and make them 3'X3'X3'
I then placed a frame for a door at each that is 1'X18" in the form so that the concrete would be held away from there - - - I also cut some shapes of animals out of plywood and fastened them to the inside of the outside form. I hang lightweight rubber belting in the opening.
I think you will figure it out from this picture. This was taken several years ago.
Still +30F here but we have about 6" of snow with drifts of 3' to 5' - - - if the wind lays by the county wants us to start about 5:00 PM but I will not be paid till they dispatch me - - - probably just the two dump trucks unless it gets a lot worse than now.
The blizzard of 1978 we ran every piece of equipment I had 24 hours a day for 10 days. Paid for by the Army Corp of Engineers - - - good money but I'm to old to work that hard now!
I guess what I like to do best in this weather is have a couple of truck out and wait till the state of county gets something stuck - - - then I go out with one of the 980 cats and make good money getting them back on the road.
Going to lay down and try to nap - - - probably won't happen!
