A Birds Eye View of the Sandhills

Well that should narrow it in for you Silver. An outfit South of Valentine within range of a C172 with a white pick up. :-)

Glad ya'll are enjoying the photo's...we live about 30 miles from Valentine and yes MillerField is where we keep the plane...It's a Cessna 172...and my hubby wishes for a taildragger someday so he can land out here...

When ya live in the sandhills or any area for that matter..you do learn landmarks...and believe it or not...each hill has it's own look...ya remember where blowouts are...where there might be a lone cedar tree...plum thickets that grow on the side of a hill...lots of things to figure out where ya are..lol

Silver...I bet you could find me out in my white pickup caking cows in the mornings if it was a live feed..lol

First, great pics. They really are awesome. The landmark comment is true. A few years ago I had a friend who was working on his pilot's license. On his first solo he got a bit disoriented and was getting pretty nervous until he saw a grain elevator and flew down to read the name on the side of the building. Who would think knocking down old wooden elevators could create an aviation safety risk. :D
