OT, as a judge, how would you treat a prosecutor that came before your court and wasted the court's time when he knew the people he was trying to convict were NOT guilty of the charges that were under investigation?

Apparently this prosecuter not only had enough probable cause to seek an indictment- but enough evidence to convince a jury beyond a reasonable doubt that a crime had been committed....

Perjury is a pretty simple crime to avoid- TELL THE TRUTH- and don't try to mislead.....

Oh what a tangled web we weave, When first we practise to deceive!

Sir Walter Scott

Most these politicians are so tangled in lies- they can't remember the last time they told the truth.....

So, it seems you have no problem with a prosecutorial witch hunt.

I do- if they coverup evidence or make up evidence--but as I understand it that was not the case in the Libby prosecution... He tried to mislead Congress and federal investigators- which have a Constitutional right and duty to oversee the Administrative branch- and got caught doing it- and was indicted by the Grand Jury and tried by a Judge and jury that convicted Libby on four of the five counts in the indictment: one count of obstruction of justice; two counts of perjury; and one count of making false statements to federal investigators.

He should not have been granted clemency...If you were not doing something you weren't supposed to in the first place- why would you have to take the option of lying and covering up anyway :???:

Libby refused to take the witness stand in his own defense--and since being convicted has dropped all his appeals..... It seems he believes he has an unappeallable case- or is being a loyal subject willing to take the fall to cover up for his boss's illegal actions... :???:

He's the fall guy, no doubt about that. I'm sure he's making a fat hourly wage while sitting behind bars.

RobertMac, you do realize by now, don't you, that these guys are champions of whichever current conspiracy theories they are aware of?

Anything to discredit whomever is doing the best job possible, or trying to beat back bureaucratic takeovers of government agencies (a long-time problem noted by real conservatives) or stand up to Democrat zealots in Congress........and it goes on!

There seem to be many in 'ranch country' now who claim to be conservatives, but talk a liberal line while blaming GWB for most evils in the country.

I do recall when this president began the fight against the terrorists who declared war on the western world and particularly on the USA, that it would be a war of words, too, and that many of us would believe those who were lying to us and condemn those who told us the truth.
