All you ROAD/DITCH hunters...READ THIS!!!!

Kola- I agree with both you and Mike...The Constitution gives us the right to own and bear arms- and I'm not in favor of banning arms- but do agreeing with licensing automatics and machine guns....

But I also think we made a huge mistake when we allowed importers to import in millions of CHEAP Chicom AK's--which were sold in this country for between $50-100- and allowed every idiot in the country to own one- and many to own a machine gun with the easily available conversion kits that made them into fully autos...And I do mean some were idiots that got them-- as I have recovered them from retards....

Somewhere out there (I know of a few) there are large stashes of these weapons and truckloads of 7.62 X 39 ammo-- stored away- waiting for the day they believe this country's economy will flop- and the country will go into civil unrest and rebellion- and the starving masses will go to the areas where the food is... I just hope GW isn't bringing their predictions to be.......

Kola...........your something else!

I know a guy who was killed by a speeding corvette.......ban them corvettes....its the corvettes fault!....no one needs them for driving anyway.

You are a a drama queen!! How do you hunt in that dress anyway?

SoDak Hunter...I will agree with one thing you said. WE DO NEED TO BAN ASSAULT WEAPONS.

No one needs to hunt with an AK-47 or the like or own it for any reason whatsoever.

Absolutely, unequivocally, and indefensibly, wrong. Although AK-47's aren't usually used for hunting game, the U.S. Constitution does not separate the use of arms for defense and sporting weapons.

What's next hanguns? Swords?

Besides, there are laws on the books prohibiting automatic weapons to the general public without a permit.

I could shoot just as many people with a hunting gun as I could with an AK-47 had I the desire ...............

ALL guns could be labeled "Assault Weapons" if the libs chose to.

I am licensed to the hilt...and I know you are also Mike. I do not believe in a ban on guns EXCEPT the automatic weapons. I do not think Joe Average Citizen should have one at all!!

They have developed a bad connotation in our society...and with these mall shootings using these types of weapons...to some fools it makes them much more appealing than a 30.06 or the like.

Yes Mike YOU could shoot a lot of people with a ' regular' rifle....but most folks could not.

On this we disagree 100%....NO AUTO WEAPONS...PERIOD.

No one needs to hunt with a fully auto rifle/weapon. Wait till you get home to cut up the meat!!! If you are that lousy of a shot that you need 20 or 30....you don't need to be out hunting anyway.

AND.... ( to stir this even more  ) I think that everyone should have a class of some sort to learn about guns , how they work, what they ACTUALLY do and how to handle them. People my age ( early to mid-40's) and younger...90% of them have NO CLUE about the danger of a weapon and the respect it needs.

Sidenote....you and I both know that with the right know-how certain weapons CAN BE made into Auto's.

Where's your brain? Fully Automatic weapons are ALREADY banned!
Except to those that have had extensive FBI-ATF clearance.

How many people who shot in a mall or a school actually had these checks done? Answer: NONE!

An assault weapon is not necessarily Fully Automatic. An assault weapon is merely a different shape than other guns but is no more deadly.

Get shot by an AK-47, you might live. Get shot in the arm by a 300 W Mag and you'll be spun around like a top so fast that it will probably break your neck.

There are enough gun laws on the books now to effectively curtail most gun crimes. Enforce those. More laws to regulate law abiding citizens will be ignored by criminals just as they are now.

These people that try to associated a assault weapon(whatever that is) with being a full auto.......................they just show their stupidity. Why do we want stupid people try to bargain away our rights.

And why are you so special that you get to own an automatic weapon??

How many people on here own a ruger 10/22?????

How many own a BAR??? (Browning Automatic Rifle) 30-06 was a popular caliber.

How many own a Ruger Mini 14???????

All of these ARE a practical use gun. Who are you to say who gets to own one and who doesn't.

You want to pick on a state laws, how about Wisconsin, you can use any size clip to shoot deer. In SD, your gun can only hold 5 rounds, in WI it could hold 100 if you wanted to.

How about TX or AL where baiting is legal?? You want to talk of ethics, how ethical is it to shoot a deer over a bucket of corn or underneath a feeder. YEA real ethical there guys.

LISTEN TO WHAT YOUR SAYING.........
you call me and others slobs for road hunting......call it road hunting when people shoot geese / other people from the window of the acar with a rifle....throw beer cans out....we try to correct you and explain what road hunting is and how everything you have said is illegal, and you still screw it up.

Then some lame wank comes along and says full auto and holy cow.....you jump their frame like there is no tomorrow. Does that make any sense? There is as big a difference between road hunters and those illegal bastards you talk about as there is between fully auto and semi, or the punk kid who STOLE the gun to begin with. YOU MAKE NO SENSE!!

Sorry. You have misplaced your facts again.

Baiting is NOT legal in Alabama.

Feeder. That's just funny right there, You accuse us of being unsportsmanlike and such for shooting a bird on the road while you sit in a blind next to a FEEDER REAL ETHICAL THEIR BUDDY!

Marine Corps General Reinwald was interviewed on the radio the
other day and you'll love his reply to the lady who interviewed
him concerning guns and children. Regardless of how you feel
about gun laws you gotta love this!!!! This is one of the best
comeback lines of all time.

It is a portion of National Public Radio (NPR) interview between
a female broadcaster and US Marine Corps General Reinwald who
was about to sponsor a Boy Scout Troop visiting his military
installation.

FEMALE INTERVIEWER: So, General Reinwald, what things are you
going to teach these young boys when they visit your base?

GENERAL REINWALD: We're going to teach them climbing,
canoeing, archery, and shooting.

FEMALE INTERVIEWER: Shooting! That's a bit irresponsible, isn't
it?

GENERAL REINWALD: I don't see why, they'll be properly
supervised on the rifle range.

FEMALE INTERVIEWER: Don't you admit that this is a terribly
dangerous activity to be teaching children?

GENERAL REINWALD: I don't see how. We will be teaching them
proper rifle discipline before they even touch a firearm.

FEMALE INTERVIEWER: But you're equipping them to become violent
killers.

GENERAL REINWALD: Well, Ma'am, you're equipped to be a
prostitute, but you're not one, are you?

The radio went silent and the interview ended. You gotta love
the Marines!

Happy got all p!ssy because Kola posted this and associated it with road hunting. Its not.

Ok, Lucy...' splain it then.

The boy was shot by a hunter from the road, in a truck , that left the scene by the way.

Said hunter was shooting at some decoys placed in a field, that was not his field.

Apparently this genius thought he'd get in an easy whack at a duck or fowl of some type.

How is that NOT road hunting?

now, I know Kola is a dingy old bat, and not the brightest bulb in the pack. but it sure looks like she nailed this one right on the head!

sure sounds like a road hunter to me

Carter, you bait deer? now if you get real good at that we could say you are a master.
that would make you a master baiter?

Yeah I bait them. I work hard at it !! lol, I spend thousands of dollars a yr planting wheat so I can sit in my truck and shoot deer :o

I am for hunting, I am for owning a gun, I have no 10 ft fences (all free range here) I have numerous guns from 22's to shotguns, rifles, and an .450 semi-auto carbine. Road hunting per definition in my part of the woods is driving around hunting land you have no permission to hunt, it is illegal and a federal offence. I don't care if it is deer or squirels!! Pheasant hunting I have done some of but not from the road unless it was a private road on land I had permission to hunt. And I'm not going to go back and look but whoever said b/c this is an outragous thread "talking big on the Internet and I would go to jail for shooting trespassers" It is against the law to tresspass in Texas and you are more than welcome to come on down.

guns don't kill people
people do...................Well said Jigs
When I read the original post I didn't see kola jumping on anyone just posting an article.

And driving around in a vehicle is fair chase. think about it. My feeders consist of nothing smaller than 40 acres of wheat. At least I have to scout and find them on my property and not shoot them off of someone elses without permission BUDDY

I live not 10 miles from where this accident happened so maybe I have a little different perspective. This young man was gunned down by rifle shooting a$$holes driving around shooting a rifle from a pickup truck on a public road. This thread has ignored the useless loss of life in favor of a discourse on hunting rights. It is being called a hunting accident as the victim was, in fact, hunting. Was the shooter hunting? Well, if he was he was illegal in just about every aspect....rifle shooting water fowl, shooting from the road, shooting from a vehicle, shooting on someone else's land ad nauseum. I am not suggesting the shooter knew the young man was there but I am suggesting that anyone that stupid should not be allowed to shoot or even have access to a deadly weapon. Perhaps he was just trying to blow up a decoy but he was still shooting from the road, using a rifle to shoot at water fowl, trespassing on private property, etc.

By the way, one suspect has been apprended and two others have been identified.
