Good 'ol SH has told us many times that even though the Japanese were asking for BSE testing, to provide it would be consumer fraud. Do you agree?

Sandhusker, does your poll question even make sense?
Depending on accuracy of people selling tests, testing may or may not have any chance of detecting BSE in cattle young enough to be sold as beef to Japan. Therefore, isn't it something less than honest to test? There certainly is, at the least, an implication that testing is going to show if the animals have BSE, when that probably is not possible. Deception at best, possibly fraud, IMO.

BSE urine test works on any age animal that has urine .You can't STOP progress or inventions.

I figger at the very least we should be testing every last O24M animal that goes through. Of course, this means the packers may be out some money for the failure animals, and there would be some failure animals.

I voted that SH has a good point.
However having said that Im not really sure if I agree with him.
If Japan (the customer) wants every animal tested. Why not test them if it opens the market to your beef?
Is it about economics? Would it make American beef to expensive in Japan? If so fine. Screw em and dont trade anything with Japan. Not just beef but dont trade with them at all. Kick the Toyota man right off American soil and Nuke North Korea while your at it! When you pull your troops out of Japan make an anoucement at the UN that you guys dont care and will not get involved if some other nation over there wants to invade them.
Seems like all these different countries that are sapposedly friendly with one another are always looking for a way to screw one another.
Sorry if I sound cranky, i was in a wreck tis morning and im not having a good day.
But this whole BSE thing is bull$hit. If you americans would not have made such a big deal about it being so bad when canada had it and you were not really testing for it so technically you didnt have it at the time, we all would have been better off.
Ever producer in North America should have known that BSE was coming. Then when it happened if we all would have stuck together instead of trying to milk it for a short term gain.
You know Elk and deer get cronic wasteing. Its almost the same thing as BSE. You can still eat the meat if you dont cut into the brains or spinal column.
Moose carry so many different diseases and parisites that if you ever read up on all of them you would never want to eat moose meat again!
But again its the way that the meat is prepaired and cooked.
Atlantic Cod fish are full of worms from the damn seals. And birds and pigs are about the most disgusting animals on earth. Look at that physco Pig Farmer out in BC that killed all those hookers. What did he do with the bodies? You can damn well bet that he fed him to his pigs. God I wonder if its possible to get AIDs from bacon?God I cant believe that beef gets a bad wrap compared to everything else thats out there.
But a lot of the bad wrap comes from producers<think R-CALF>

You'll also find a guy on this site that talks about BSE transmission via cattle that graze pasture ground where chicken waste is spread. Of course, these chickens are fed suspect MBM. The odds of aids transmission thru the hogs is probably similar to cattle picking up a case of BSE in the above described fashion. You probably have better odds of winning the lottery AND getting struck by lightning daily for three straight days.
I still don't know I'd take a BLT sandwich from the hog farmer in BC.
