They really made a big push then to get the cattle off
the Forest and the cattlemen prevailed...so far anyway...

we gotten along well on our permit , except a few years ago the range con really wanted to change some things. We brought in the range cons from the University, and the head ranger thew his range con under the bus. problem was the ranger retired a couple years later, the range con became interm ranger. he made us come off early in late sept, opening day od deer season. those cattle got so scattered we were still gathering the 1st part od December. if he waited 10 days wed had them off in 3.

This is a problem with range techs in the blm &usfs. Book learning with no practical experience.

As we all know, there are good permit holders then there are those who don't care.
