Ask Van Dyke

I have an Idea why don't we have Sandhusker, Oldtimer, ocm and a few other make up a list of questions we are allowed to ask Mr. ? Van Dyke. When finished they could PM each of us with their schmuck proof questions and we will fire way. Kind of like they do at R-CALF RFD-TV programs that are staged to answer the producers questions!!!!!

I know I'll be waiting to see what watered down, one sided question they will allow me to ask. How about the rest of you?

How about simply asking a question with a smidgeon of common politeness? How would you like to go thru what this family did? What has this guy done to you to warrant being called, "Son of Van Dyke"? That was rude and low rent.

Talk about low rent look through the last few months of posts and see who is really LOW RENT when it comes to what you call people.

If I had read one exceptable answer coming from Mr VAN DYKE He might have kept my attention but every answer he provided came with more RED FLAGS.

Maybe you would like to explain why Senators that is looking for reasons to keep the border closed weren't interested enough in this story to call Mr. VAN DYKE and his family back? I'm waiting for an exceptable answer Sandhusker I didn't get one from him and I doubt you can tell us why either.

He answered everything I asked him. Then again, I didn't ask him if he was just here to dance or address him in some snotty manner. I tell my kids about every day, "You get what you give".

Since the two of you are in such good standing ask him to post the pictures that he has to prove the cattle were at his lot  Texan even posted a link to the instructions. That would do vandyke and all of us a lot of good. If you get the same response the rest of us did I will believe he is just dancing around the hard questions.

I haven't seen him around here ever since the anti-R-CALF crowd rolled out their welcome. Maybe the guy doesn't appreciate unwarranted barbs.

What the heck is the big deal Sadhusker? Van Dyke jr. or whatever you want to call him posted this in his first posting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am the son of Jan Van Dyke I am a 4th generation farmer and actively farm with my father Jan and my grandpa.

He said he is the son OF VAN DYKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He didn't say if his name was Ron, Dave, Dan or Brian or that he his last name was even Van Dyke but that he was the son of Jan Van Dyke.

Geez some people sure get their shorts in a knot over nothing.

Y'know something? If I had some bulls to sell, I think I would be tempted to post them on this thread. Oh, yes, plus knowing how to post the pictures.

Somehow, this whole thing bears a striking resemblance to the guy that was selling a whole bunch of bull(s) to himself. That was so funny.

Hs mistake was when he forgot which of his personalities was talking to the other. It would really have gotten interesting to see which personality was supposed to sign the cheque!

What I'm saying is, if Mr. Van Dyke is for real, he would do himself a favour by giving some hard evidence of his identity and story.

After some of the posts sent his way, I don't think Mr. Van Dyke cares if some believe his story or not. He would have to be a masochist to hang around here.

Sandhusker could you please ask Mr. ? Van Dyke if this is the same Senator that wasn't interested enough in his family's story about ILLEGAL CANADIAN CATTLE to return their phone calls. As when I asked he didn't answer.
Cattle Producers Welcome Senate Intervention in USDA's Proposed OTM Rule

WASHINGTON, D.C. (February 12, 2007) Cattle producers were pleased to learn that a bipartisan group of four Senators from major cattle-producing states sent a letter of concern to Agriculture Secretary Mike Johanns regarding the U.S. Department of Agriculture's (USDA's) proposed rule (Rule 2) that would permit live Canadian cattle born after March 1, 1999, to be imported into the United States.

USDA published this proposed rule in the Federal Register on Jan. 9. In particular, the rule deals with Canadian cattle over 30 months (OTM) of age. Public comments on the proposal are due March 12. Authors of the letter to USDA were: Sen. Mike Enzi, R-Wyo., Sen. Byron Dorgan, D-N.D., Sen. Jeff Bingaman, D-N.M., and Sen. John Thune, R-S.D.

"Increasing U.S. imports of Canadian cattle and beef at this time would have a significant negative impact on the economic well-being of American cattle producers and could seriously disrupt our efforts to expand U.S. beef exports overseas…Furthermore, expanding Canadian cattle imports increases the possibility that a future case of BSE in a Canadian animal may be found in the United States. Three of Canada's nine BSE cases occurred in cattle born long after the March 1, 1999 date proposed in the rule…" the letter stated in part.

Swift asked us if we had any knowledge of Canadian cattle on our load. They said that all of their expected Canadian cattle were accounted for and that they had found some unaccounted cattle on our load. Swift then told us that all 43 cattle on the load were subject to being condemned. That is a real hit thinking that you lost almost $50,000. They told us that all the carcasses were pulled from the line and were hanging in a seperate cooler until they could account for all of the cattle. Swift confirmed that 7 head had Canadian tags on the Swift purchase.
