Per gave me a hard time about the drought of photos from here so I carried the camera yesterday on a gathering mission. We are bunching cows up to turn bulls out on the 1st.

June 8th, 1 meese. I drew a tag for one this fall.

June 13, we went to a Memorial for an old neighbor/friend from our Dog Creek days. They have since moved east and we moved west.
There was a time when this trio could cause a lot of trouble.

Yesterday, found this bunch and trailed them home.

Thanks Gcreek. I would get claustrophobia trailing that far through the bush. Looks like you too have everything well in hand and the grass is starting to come along.

The grass is coming Per, although slowly. It has been cool and dry here for qiute a while.
Our trails are cut to skirt the meadows, it is much easier moving cattle through the timber than have them slogging through mud.

Per, that's not bush, that's forest! At least to a prairie dweller.:)

Looks like you could use a shot of rain, I hope you get it soon.
Calves are growing well, they look good.

That was a nice meadow you found those pairs in.

We could use a rain Dylan, most of our grass is coming but the high spots are dry.
I was trying to give you prairie guys a look at what kind of country we have to handle cattle in and how important a good dog can be. Keeper won't ever be a top dog but he tries and that is all I expect of any hired help.

A dog that keeps you from having to go into the forest is a top dog!

Things are looking good gcreek. I envy you your open bush to push cattle through.

Cows look fine. Too bad ya cant crossbreed them with a moderate framed calving ease bull BEAVER! Ya wouldnt need to worry about feed! :D I'd like 6 or 8 cords of nice dry pine in 16 inch lengths sent down here when ya get a minute.

If he'll cut it to length and you'll split it, I'd be willing to watch both of ya'll stack it in my wood shed when ya deliver it.

If H would send the needed postage I would send a few blocks a week just to see the look on the postmistress's face! :D

Thanks for posting pictures gcreekrch! Real boring around here compared to your country. I am envious! A few summers ago a helped my dad on a ranch on the Idaho/Montana border for a couple weeks and we were riding in trees like that. It was really neat.
